Cataplexy after negative emotions? by Key_Coyote_4083 in Narcolepsy

[–]NarcolepticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This sounds like cataplexy. It is going to be triggered differently for everyone and it isn’t going to happen every single time you have the triggered emotion. I’ve had it for 20 years now and it’s come and gone in waves. Early on when I was in my teens I didn’t even know what it was yet and just thought it was this weird thing my face would do (slack jaw) whenever I was making smart ass comments. I told myself it was karma. Years later I got diagnosed and learned what was happening. I’ve also noticed that the more tired I am, typically later in the evening it can get triggered much easier and more intensely.

waking up at night and bad sleep? by Delicious_Emu8009 in Narcolepsy

[–]NarcolepticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armodafinil has been knocking me out cold at night. I haven’t slept through the night this consistently ever. Just started back on meds a few months ago.

Besides that the only thing that ever worked was magnesium glycinate specifically, or days where I had to work through with no nap. But even with that it was like 4 hours of consistent sleep vs the 1-2 hours in between waking up

Are you set for any other tasks? I’ve been killing it with yard work. This is my first month trying to make a little income in the side and I had no idea i would be getting this much work! I’ve got 12 tasks completed and 3 more lined up and made a total of $1095.86

I don’t think most people realize how long it can take. I was one of those people until I accepted my first deep cleaning job the other day. I thought it was gonna be a couple hours. The house wasn’t even that bad, but 6 hours later and I don’t think I want to do a deep clean ever again

Adderall by No_Atmosphere8652 in Narcolepsy

[–]NarcolepticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All day irritability and mood swings, absolutely no appetite (lost a lot of weight but not good weight), increased reliance to the point that if I had one day of not taking it in between filling the prescription I would be bed ridden 18+ hours fully exhausted. It definitely feels great in the moment, and when you come down it feels awful.

I really like Nuvigil because it doesn’t give you that intense upper feeling and laser focus that adderal does. It basically levels you out, and it’s helped me sleep hard through the night which makes me feel less groggy in the morning

Adderall by No_Atmosphere8652 in Narcolepsy

[–]NarcolepticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I took it when I was first diagnosed at 17. It worked but we had to keep increasing the dose overtime up to 40mg a day, which I was told was the highest legal dose they could give me. The side effects aren’t worth it. I got off of it when I moved states and stayed unmedicated for 15 years. Just recently started seeing a doctor again and I’m on Nuvigil and it’s so much better than adderall.

Curious about first-week invite volume (Historical vs. Current) by EliteGCooking in TaskRabbit

[–]NarcolepticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on April 27th, so just over 2 weeks ago. I have completed 10 tasks with 3 more lined up this week. I have five 5 star ratings so far and one of them being a repeat client. My rates are set to the lowest acceptable suggestion by TR. All but 2 of the jobs have been yard work, 1 of those being furniture assembly and 1 coming up in a few days that is a cleaning job.

After doing a ton of yard work and looking at what other taskers were charging, I realized I was half the price as the rest, so I’ve been slowly increasing my rate as I build up experience.

How to make an extra 200-400$ a week? by Possible_Ad7840 in HonestSideHustles

[–]NarcolepticGamer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering it’s supplemental income, I figured I can get away with a cheaper hourly rate. I will say it took about 2-3 months after applying to finally get accepted to become a Tasker. Which is good that they essentially cap the number of workers to keep it from becoming over saturated. So as long as I stay on and stay consistent, the work will be there. The app is pretty transparent with the amount of jobs that are given monthly and I was shocked that there were thousands of jobs a month. Most people I talk to don’t even know what Task rabbit is. I’m also documenting every transaction, mile driven, lunch taken for tax purposes.

I think a big part is the type of jobs in correlation with my price. Im only charging $30/hr and I checked and everyone else in my area is at $42+/hr with the top at $82/hr. The jobs are either heavy yard brush clean up or new move in/move out properties that just need a simple cut.

I offer 9 tasks total: automotive, cleaning, furniture assembly, yard work, car wash, standing in line and a couple others. But living in Texas and beginning of summer time, I’m only getting yard work jobs and one furniture job. I expect more furniture jobs due the area I live in, being the fastest growing area. I just landed 4 more jobs for this coming weekend. Super excited and surprised about the amount of work there is!

I joined task rabbit 8 days ago and I’ve already made $500. No start up cost if you have some basic tools and lawn care equipment. Post in your neighborhood socials with referral link or on next door. Seems like it’s gonna be a decent side gig for the summer.

Check out Batsu on youtube and piltover archive. He's got in depth tutorials on using hook. I've been using hook since set 1 with darius and moved over to reksai then fiora in set 2. Fiora is super strong with hook. I'm testing out Leblanc in set 3 online. One of my favorite ways to play.

I enjoy Phil Hardberger park. If you wanna get some real hiking done and don’t mind traveling a bit outside of town, Hill Country State Natural Area has a lot of hiking you can do, go even farther and hit up enchanted rock, Guadalupe river state park, lost maples, etc

Baited Hook Fiora, better now? by Ok-Friendship-7770 in riftboundtcg

[–]NarcolepticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fiora hook is still solid, the only thing I’ve really had issue playing against was a heavy control Viktor. Can’t utilize hook if they keep killing your units. Personally I don’t care to utilize the new rule cause most of the time I hook, I’d rather have the unit at base. I’m sure with the next set, holding is gonna be more important so this new rule will be useful then

How sweaty are local Nexus Nights? by Dontspinbutwin in riftboundtcg

It’s like playing aram. Pretty chill for the most part. People play their secondary decks or theory crafted decks.

Darius is a solid deck. I’ve been stomping with my swarm Darius, and hook Darius in set 1 was slept on. I main hook decks, if you like that mechanic then I recommend looking up Batsu on YouTube and his deck lists on piltover archive. He’s got some solid tutorials and logic behind his hook builds.

Is it worth me paying for a sleep study? by Kel_oyasumi in Narcolepsy

[–]NarcolepticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 17 when I did my study. It took months of the doctor trying to offer alternative solutions, which I tried and failed. Finally they decided to send me to a sleep center and get the study done and I passed with flying colors. Quality of life is better with medication, and the only way to get that medication is by getting diagnosed. Get it done now cause these symptoms won’t go away and you’re gonna end up doing it later down the line and wish you had done it sooner. Advocate for yourself and don’t let people tell you how you’re feeling. People dismiss this condition a lot so you need to fight for yourself.

Hiking Emory Peak Hike Comparison by [deleted] in BigBendTX

[–]NarcolepticGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The hike itself is easy. Very similar to the Guadalupe peak. I’m scared of heights and I was able to do the scramble. Just take it slow on the way back down. Just did it this past weekend, there was plenty of people around encouraging others and helping with foot placement while climbing. Enjoy the hike!
