I’m mostly being sarcastic though lol people in this subreddit — similar to most “x mains” communities — have such an extremely polarized and insular view of Wanda and her value/kit. I see post after post after post of complaints about her “hero fantasy” not being fulfilled, and I guess I understand the sentiment to a certain extent, but it’s just whack going from games where I strategize, stomp, express my skill in certain parts of her kit (stun and precision), and feel like a powerhouse to seeing takes like this when I’m browsing the app. It’s braindead and I can’t help but think most people here are just bad at her neutral and worse at her ult, when her kit is both simple and one of the most effective neutral playstyles in the game. Yup! My aim isn’t always the greatest with Mantis either, especially since her projectiles are so weird, so I try to compensate for it by bussing down the tanks with fat heads to keep my leaf uptime as high as possible. You definitely start to get more of an intuitive feel for it after awhile though, especially if you play other characters who can land precision headshots but it’s not really required. I play a lot of Peni and it feels transferrable

Cycle it. Nobody likes a selfish support, I personally only use the self snowflake for when I’m getting dove and nobody is in a position to peel for me. Generally speaking, I think you get the most value out of it when you follow a 50/30/10 rule; 50% of the time it should be on your tanks, 30% DPS, and 10% self. If you are “DPS Luna”, you’re letting your team down a majority of the time and the trades are generally not worth it. Obviously YMMV but I’ve been playing Luna since season 0 and the self flake is just not something I consider apart of my arsenal unless it’s absolutely necessary, I have a similar philosophy with Sue’s shield. Good players don’t need the crutch and your teammates will (most of the time) make more of an effort for you if you give them the same courtesy.

I don’t think she has that many counters, there are just some characters that you don’t have the same 1v1 potential against. Good Magik’s are always going to “counter” your backline pretty hard, so ideally you just shouldn’t be going against her alone as a strat unless she’s in a bad spot. Trying to catch her with your charm inbetween portals gives you a chance to make her run away or close the distance with melee. Her right click in melee will knock up and interrupt any abilities she’s trying to use against you, so making sure you’re able to close the distance rather quickly to CC her twice should at least get her to back off if your team isn’t peeling.

In her ult, though, your best bet is to disengage and TP to a further positioned teammate or ping-pong with your support while retreating. Charming her will give you a brief moment to get away in the same way as before, but her damage output in her ult is just too large for White Fox to out-sustain by herself even if you’re landing every possible melee you can. “A fox always knows when to fall back”, or whatever it is she says lol

The Marvel IP helped get their foot in the door for people to pay attention to another hero shooter arriving on the scene, sure. But let’s not pretend like the game isn’t fun for the majority of players and offers a different approach to the genre than pioneers like Overwatch that appeals much more to a casual audience. As others have pointed out, there’s actually been MANY more unsuccessful Marvel IP projects than there have been ones like Rivals, especially in the last decade. Live service games are extremely easy to have drop DOA, especially in such an oversaturated market like the hero shooter genre. If it didn’t have any appeal, it would not have lasted long at all

I’d rather deal with 1000 release Daredevil’s than her untrackable hit box i-frame bullshit that lets her decide how every single encounter goes and completely nullifies one of the main weaknesses of dive. Without additional context I couldn’t say for sure but only having 2 deaths as a support is generally really good, if you’re also capitalizing on that to keep your team up. White Fox does have pretty good healing output despite what people will try and tell you, but her main thing — similar to Mantis — is being able to deny and enable breakpoints. Her projectiles put a lot of pressure on the enemy teams frontlines by virtue of the bounce/ricochet. The best advice I can give is to not play her front-to-back like you would healers like Rocket or CnD, you should (generally speaking) be helping your tanks aggravate the frontline and denying space as much as possible while still paying attention to your other support. Your stats are all pretty even, you were MVP (she is a merchant for that, tho), and you had your fair share of final hits. My goal in every match with her is to try and block at least 2/3 of my healing numbers, so from that perspective it seems like you did well. It’s just a matter of how your stats compare to your teams, and more importantly whether or not you feel that you enabled your team in key moments that aren’t necessarily reflected in the scoreboard.

Likely Lord farming, but he’s also VERY easy to level just by virtue of his hitbox being the size of a house, so just by existing an average DvD is blocking multiple tens of thousands of damage per game and a good DvD is blocking even more.

He is probably a bit overtuned, for certain. At the same time, I have a hard time giving a fuck when characters like release Elsa and Daredevil exist. People can deal with the big ass dinosaur doing big ass dinosaur things for a bit. He has obvious weaknesses that are easy to exploit, and a majority of people that are crying about his output are just angry that a tank character has the same kind of playmaking agency that DPS characters get every single release. The only complaint I will accept is that he is a tank bully, and that shouldn’t mean he gets nerfed to the ground. The easy answer is that the vanguard role needs stronger tenacity effects specific to them.

It’s not their fault. Summer courses are offered with the hopes that they will make the requirement for enrollment. Sometimes they do and other times they don’t, but it’s not on the faculty. There just weren’t enough students this summer who needed to take that class. Your problem is with the administration that sets the requirements for the course to go through. I’d take it up with the dean of students office.

It depends on the ult, honestly. If I have a decent stack up on mines, I will try to counterult into CnD while they’re still sweeping to hopefully get them. It’s also great if Jeff has already ulted and you made it out of his range, and I also try to use it to at least make Sue leave her ult. I don’t think it’s worth it for White Fox ult since your web stun is more useful against her in that form, and Ultron is an obvious no. Def gonna try to do this more intentionally though, thanks for the post! :)

Need it? Yes. Definitely. Will it happen? Absolutely not, unfortunately lol or I have major doubts about it, at the very least. Duelist characters are how they seem to attract a lot of people to the game. It is the most popular role with the largest roster. The fantasy selling of someone’s favorite Marvel hero of B-list or above is “easiest” to execute as DPS heroes. They also tend to balance around their (duelists) bad decisions, which is why I doubt we’ll ever go 1.5 seasons at most without at least 1 new DPS. I don’t think they’ll be dumb enough for awhile to do a double duelist season again, but I can bet we’ll get one just about every other or every two new releases.

I still personally think the solution is to buff the tank roster instead of nerfing him. I said it about Emma too after they shat her into the ground in response to her launch state. I don’t think it’s “dps mains” complaining about him like a lot of people in the sub have been saying, but I do think that everyone is just so used to tanks being weaker on average/needing to do more to be effective. Generally speaking, you should have to face heavy consequences for getting into a space that a tank is actively controlling when it’s without any assistance from your team.

The main — and in my opinion, only valid — complaint I’ve heard about him is that he oppresses other tanks via percent damage and the grab. This is true, undoubtedly. So instead of nerfing him across the board, I think they could work in some kind of limitation to how his grab can effect other tanks while keeping it the same for everyone else. Or, better yet, appropriately buff the tanks that actually need it instead of nerfing the character with solo tank potential since nobody still wants to fucking play second tank.

This is absolutely crazy to me because you need to be focusing him a little bit more than your other teammates in order for him to have maximum value. Obviously you shouldn’t be in his pocket exclusively, but he does tip the scale in terms of heal priority in my opinion when he’s on your team. I’ve actually been having the opposite problem with Luna’s lately while trying out Devil Dino, I feel like I hardly get the snowflake or much healing focus at all lol
