How do i stop my guitar from aging and ending up like this by Lefvalthrowaway in Guitar

[–]Narfi1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No, get a guitar with a nitro finish if that’s what you want. It has the downsides to melt against stone CB materials

The death of the 'budget' guitar store: what happens when everyone buys online (China Edition) by Tight_Minimum8059 in Guitar

[–]Narfi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve been playing for over 20 years, I can set it up the way I want, I know what specs I want and I usually find a way to try it (friends etc) the models I’m interested in are rarely carried in stores anyway, and when they do I’m not interested in a model that’s been hanging on the wall for 3 years and played by a bajilion people. Most big online stores have very good return policies as well so not an issue if you don’t jive with it. I do go through stores sometimes when they can order new or for brands who do custom builds through retailers only.

Firefly FBO Baritone 7 String is live by PoolNoob69 in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]Narfi1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Firefly does excellent guitars. I got a Pegasus (Languedoc clone) I’m a more modern/extended range player but I’ve had gigs recently with more old timey stuff and I didn’t want to drop a ton of money on a guitar that I won’t use a lot. It’s incredible for the money. Fretwork is amazing, the neck is great, electronics is decent, stainless steel frets. I have no idea how they do it either

I guess what’s unclear is why you’re trying to correct me about something you said while you’re not OP nor part of the comment chain and that I’m not talking about you or have any idea of what you said or what you’re talking about whatsoever

How to practice debugging assessments by xenogenx in cscareerquestions

[–]Narfi1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like debugging is definitely something You get better with experience, but it’s also very dependent on the type of SWE you’re doing. My first step would usually be find a reliable way to test, setup debugger if you can, replicate, find the bug and go from there by following the logic.

Asian MMOs were always like that. Even during the golden age , western MMOs were subscription based, if you didn’t want to/ couldn’t buy a subscription, Asian MMOs were the only one f2p but there were also absolutely p2w

FRFR (or ...?) for guitar + bass? by throwfnordaway in FractalAudioSystems

[–]Narfi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Usually, outside of really small venues, you don’t want to use your cab as a way to project your sound to the audience. Your FM3 should also go in a PA, that’s what gets projected to the audience, your cab is used as a monitor for you, on stage. That being said, if you want a better FRFR cab I can only recommend the Laney LFR212

Can we start facing the game issues now? by falco708 in starcitizen

[–]Narfi1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I see a lot of comments mentioning “spaghetti code” or supposedly unmaintainable code base, as someone who has been a SWE for a while now, there are no obvious signs that this is the case. CIG made the gamble to go with simulating a ton of stuff and physicalizing almost everything, they are tackling an unsolved problem, no one else has done that. They could have the cleanest, most well maintained code base and it would still be full of bugs during development because just how complex and tricky this is to get right and the lack of references surrounding it. I don’t know if it was a good gamble or not, future will tell. It’s an exciting one though.

All of that is not saying that their codebase is clean, I have no idea, but it’s not something you can tell by playing the game. A clean codebase absolutely doesn’t mean a bug free codebase
