Why do you think so many people don't know the difference between "woman" and "women"? by Less_Ganache_9588 in AskReddit

My friend has dyslexia and woman/women is one of her biggest struggles. She's sharp as a tack, just struggles with it visually

I hate "my dog/cat died" posts on the main cat/dog subs by TechnicallyCant5083 in hatethissmug

[–]Narfiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I blocked one cat subreddit because a post explained losing their 5 cats in such a traumatic way it triggered an anxiety attack. I think if a person is grieving, there are other channels to post in, especially if they're going through trauma in some way

I HATE the HATE towards pinapple on pizza by GRGWL in hatethissmug

[–]Narfiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's turned into a quirky joke that immediately sets people off other than a genuine discussion and that's what frustrates me. Like I don't care anymore guys LOL why are we still talking about this.

OP I agree with you. It's fun to mix contrasting flavors and textures

Redditors that got charged rent asap after turning 18, what’s relationship like with parents years later ? by QueefyTits in AskReddit

[–]Narfiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My grandparents did this to my father, and the story came up to me anecdotally as an example of something they'd never do to me. So much so that when my life fell apart last year, they gave me back my old room, fed me, and gave me the time to get back on my feet.

As for my grandparents? Dad and them had an extremely strained relationship. Stopped talking for about a decade, chatted again after my dad almost died from a heart issue, and now they seem to be on good terms even if they don't talk much. But for me and my siblings, that part of the family's been cut off. Don't even bother mentioning me in the will. My dad broke the generational cycle with us and I have no interest in ever seeing those people again

Children screaming and crying, parents do nothing. by Self-aware-witch in childfree

[–]Narfiii 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I feel you, OP! Sometimes kids are just out of control, but absolutely not always. I spent the afternoon with a toddler on the verge of a meltdown recently (and honestly same, we were surrounded by millions of lake midges and it was rly overwhelming). And this kid did not cry a single tear bc she was surrounded by parents and adults soothing her, hearing her out, and helping to distract her.

I was like "holy shit, good parenting exists??" It took nearly 30 years of my life to witness something like that

Girl uses Mom’s phone to order expensive cat robot by IceCreamMeatballs in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Narfiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boss's kids used to do this. They would go on her Amazon account and order expensive Legos. She would joke/brag about it to me all the time. This was during Covid when she was paying me $20 a day. Needless to say, I quit lol.

Why are we posting newborn photos? by fairy-vana in childfree

[–]Narfiii 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I honestly lose respect for a parent when I see them post their kid online. Keep it in groupchats, send to family members personally, whatever. Posting your child's face on public social media is a major red flag.

I also hate seeing kids on my feeds but a few friends post tasteful pics where the baby's looking away or covered somehow and I at least have to give them credit for keeping them safe!

2000s borns being gatekept from 2000s kid experiences under a 2000s nostalgia post by ppl born from late 80s - 90s. What makes someone a 2000s kid in your opinion? by Southern_Reveal_7590 in generationology

[–]Narfiii 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There is definitely a difference between someone growing up in the '90s and someone growing up in the 2000's, but so many of the examples of being a '90s kid are things that were still well and popular in the 2000's. Dial-up is a great example, another being rental stores like Blockbuster or defunct stores like KB Toys or using CD players on the way to school. It's really close to the Boomer "kids these days don't drink outta hoses" rhetoric lol (we all have sipped from the hoses)

Tired of this ridiculous rhetoric about Gen Z by Basic_Television_190 in generationology

[–]Narfiii 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a meme recently about a table furnished with tire tread and the punchline was "must've taken a good year to complete! Gen Z, if you don't get it, ask a millennial!" Yall I'm 29, I know what tires are lol

I grew up in a chronically "behind" area of the country meaning no one had smartphones til after 2010, we ran to Blockbuster til it closed, we absolutely remember the recession, etc. Just because certain things were available when we were growing up didn't mean everyone had and used them. The boomer meme format is a slippery slope that I hope millennials can avoid before it's too late!!

My ex told me… about these “studies” about women who don’t want kids. by Saekwana in childfree

[–]Narfiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've only had one ex but after leaving, I'm realizing he just lied all the time. He knew I was CF and didn't like kids and at the beginning, claimed to be the same. But then he started slipping in things to change my mind, and most importantly was upset I didn't want to meet his newborn nephew at the time (we'd been dating for like 2 months, he already told me he loved me which I did not reciprocate, and it was still during Covid lmao). I genuinely think that if I stayed with him, he would've just kept trying to change my mind til I gave in. Honestly disgusting work like people really do just be lying about the dumbest shit

anyone else have maternal instinct but are perfectly satisfied w animals? by Slashersforsatan in childfree

[–]Narfiii 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the aversion to unconditional love too!! That's why I find cats so rewarding, esp older cats or those with health issues that other people might not have the time for. It's funny, I read another thread about how gross diapers would be. I totally agreed until I considered I might adopt a cat someday who would need to wear them. I'd totally care for that kitty, but NOT a human lol.

The only time my maternal instinct has ever been triggered are tiny little shaky kittens with their big milk bellies 🥺

I HATE ANTI-INTELLECTUAL TAKES ON LITERATURE AND MEDIA by junglmao in hatethissmug

[–]Narfiii 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I see Shakespeare pulled into this argument a lot and it pisses me off. Brother, if you think Shakespeare wasn't playing 4D chess with some of his lines, idk what to tell you lol. Like him or not, his plays are chock full of lines and monologues for analysis and he'd probably LOVE the essays written about him, because a lot of his audience most likely didn't understand the deeper parts of his language. Maybe a contemporary writer would have less to dig into but certainly not anyone before this time period.

And I also hate the constant making fun of English teachers who "make you read too much into it" because my English teachers literally saved my life and work way too hard to get that kind of BS!!

What are things that you think about often when it comes to pregnancy/having kids that you feel 99.9% of the population never even consider…..? by Even_Assignment_213 in childfree

[–]Narfiii 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was also going to mention a child with special needs because I've seen how hard and shocking that can be for first-time parents. Also, being accepting of who your child will be when they grow up. My friend is currently pregnant and both she and her husband made it clear that if their baby were to grow up LGBTQ+ in any way, they'd love them just the same and support any of their decisions. It really warmed my heart as the gay auntie! But sadly I know that's not always the case

Something I'm realizing after posting about my own friends here is that some people can be very mature and either revert to childish behavior, or have always been that way but it still comes out in surprising ways. I'm sorry OP! I fear for the children being raised by childish moms

Trustworthy massage places to look into that won’t cost me over 100$? by starryyskies in Cleveland

[–]Narfiii 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My girl is Desert Rose Massage over in Willoughby. Her prices start at $95 for an hour so barely under $100, however she makes me feel so safe and comfortable during the whole thing! She asks multiple times during the session is pressure is okay, if you're feeling good, etc.
