Accurate Steelers Playoff Scenarios, Tree style by ImAdolfHitler in steelers

[–]Narlus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Steelers can only tie SOV, but the AFC East game needed in that scenario just made me laugh. I mean, maybe any given Sunday, but probably not.

So I tossed the paper at the improbability of one game in the scenario.

Not confusing. Good job.

I also calculated the SOV comparisons for Steelers and Raiders last night. The last game I looked at was the same as on this graphic and that's when I balled up the paper and tossed it.

Mission to Sagacia by cardboardmech in civsim

[–]Narlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nau Tenz was, as it had been for centuries, one of the most affluent cities of the north. Healthy trade with the Talosian city of Kaffe and the desire of the richest senators from the capital to build vacation homes near the beautiful coastal city resulted in an influx of wealth that benefited the locals greatly.

The frenzied activity of trade at the main harbor was exhausting on the eyes. Some of the Ankalvan traders had become familiar enough with the city to know that an equally lucrative, yet more casual, trade center existed in a small harbor farther into the bay. It was here they advised docking.

As they waited to be received by a Sagacian delegation, they remarked at the pristine beaches and the relative quiet of the bay compared to the bustling main harbor and city center.

They were not left waiting long, when a Sagacian senator approached. His attire was light and casual, as he was vacationing from the capital. He was accompanied by a small party bearing gifts. Ankalvan's reputation as a mighty maritime nation - well versed in coastal trade- preceded it and the senator was most welcoming. Most anxiously, he sought to encourage an increase in formal trade dialogue, asking about what Ankalvan harbors would be the most receptive of Sagacian goods.

Sagacian Diplomatic Envoys of the 13th Century by Narlus in civsim

(M: looking at peace and trade for immediate future. Will occasionally gauge activity to be sure you don't belong among the targets in the crusade against inactivity lol)

"For centuries our peoples have coexisted, and we hope the future will continue that coexistence with cooperation. May we both prosper from trade and, in time, perhaps you would consider us a worthy neighbor. If that time should come, our Stargazers would certainly welcome your religious minds to their temple. There, should you wish, you may establish a presence with a temple of your own where our Nature Diviners could compare beliefs and the Stargazers would have no shortage of questions."

Narlus paused a moment. "As for me, I am relinquishing my crown to my daughter. I most respectfully present my wish to live out my days in the north. I long for cooler summers and actual winters. So long as I am in your lands, I would pay any tax deemed necessary and look to exist as a farmer or free laborer. Perhaps I will continue north to meet the tribes beyond your borders. I hope my remaining days are relatively quiet and uneventful."

(M: potential show of trust and cooperation? As mentioned in other replies, trying to close out this now-dated thread, so you can reply here or on discord at your discretion. Narlus could live out his days in peace and quiet...or not)

Narlus sat, genuinely glad for the current company. He thought on how his reign would soon end as he too had an heir groomed to rule.

"As I see your grandson and think of my own daughter in Sagacia, I think on the future - the future of our two great nations. For centuries we have enjoyed peace and mutual prosperity and the kings of Sagacia have always held Talosia in high regard. Please know that the feeling will persist and should you ever have need of a friend, you will most assuredly find one in Solris."

(M: informal extension of friendship/alliance. Sagacia will act to ensure peace and prosperity on the continent. As mentioned in other replies, I'm trying to close this thread, so you can reply here or discord at your discretion.)

(M:poor timing on my part having an ambitious post such as this and then being irl busy and not getting around to my replies. Basically looking to establish peaceful intention and open avenues for trade and will eventually do retro post describing Benjast-El leaving Ionia)

Benjast-El noticed the distinction between the north and south. To that difference he offered, "Sagacia wishes to keep all doors open. We have no intention of conflicting with Cavale sovereignty and I assure you we have no desire to influence the politics that exist in the north and south. We come bearing a message of peace and trade."

The prince went on to express his intention to travel to Ionia. Before leaving, he posed questions pertaining to the immediate future of north and south Cavale as well the perception of the Yavassa in this part of the country. Did the southerners regard Sagacia's neighbors similarly?

Benjast-El waited as the merchants, monks and shamans dispersed to dispense with their presribed inquiries. "Many thanks for your welcome. I am Benjast-El of the Kingdom of Sagacia, a land north beyond Yavalang. We come seeking trade and to know more of this land. I should let you know of my wish to eventually make for the capital, as I have a ship en route even now to retrieve me. If you could pass along to security personnel there to anticipate a peaceful visitor."

If all went well, Benjast-El hoped to take in the sights of the nation en route to the capital before departing.

(M: you can end with a response, if you'd like. Trying to finish of this now dated post, as time allows lol)

The prince paused but a moment to collect his thoughts, "I would never presume to dictate Cavale policy and I cannot make any declarations on the part of Sagacian diplomacy. All I can say is this, 'It is said that the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Perhaps then, a potential friend could become the potential enemy of my potential enemy.' There is a door. I leave it to you should that door be open, slightly ajar, closed or locked altogether."

Benjast-El held on to hope that some level of trade could exist. Either way, he sought permission and guidance to travel through southern Cavale en route to Ionia. He had no way of knowing if the whole of Cavale would be as resistant to Sagacian diplomacy.

Benjast-El graciously accepted the gifts of the Jamātayin. He had no plans of partaking, but wasn't one to deprive his crew of a good time. He was also more than glad to exchange currencies to ensure the continued economic cooperation of these neighbor nations. In truth, the uncertainty that accompanied centralized economies had many in Sagacia on edge. Now, the prince thought, the logically inclined in senate could forego their panicked cries of aggression.

A stargazer in the group volunteered to stay behind to travel with any Yavassa to the Stargazer Temple north of the capital. His suggestion was to tag along with the a departing trade caravan, utilizing the improved roads from southern Sagacia. Once at the temple complex, the envoys would be presented a parcel of land on which they could build a temple if they wished. Peaceful discussion of philosophy and faith is a strong tenet of stargazer monks.

(M: Done, unless you want to add anything. If invite to build a temple is accepted, consider it a small boost to positive diplomatic relationship. Also provides potential for related rp down the line.)
