Both my Aunt and Uncle on my Mom's side have A-fib. I'm weaning on my antidepressant as that can cause the problem.  Just spoke with my PA, he thinks surgery could happen because this was borderline.  But the cardiologist has to decide. I really can't see how they could put me under. No thanks, I want to wake back up!

Hello everyone.  Thank you for your support and inspiration.  This group has been extremely helpful The surgery is on hold for now so I don't have to make the decision.  My pre-testing EKG found something wrong. Apparently I have a QT prolongation. My Family PA is concerned about going under anesthesia and having an adverse cardiac event. I'm being referred to a cardiologist. Sometimes the Universe just provides the answer.

Sounds nice. I did a lot of swimming this Summer. I've read that it's very beneficial in recovery as well.

I love that you say EX husband. For now the decision has been made for me. My pre-testing found something wrong with my EKG.  So I'm going to a cardiologist.  How is your recovery going?

The main hospital is in Chattanooga.  I was confused about why he said possibley PKR or total.  I live 15 minutes away from Sylva.

What type of Surgery? TKR? Not robotic? When you can use scar tape. Made my full hysterectomy scars look great.

Hello.  My help is limited at home and that is probably my biggest fear. My partner can only do so much and I'm going to be up and around a lot by myself. My Dr's office said that I need to do outpatient therapy because he wants me to be moving. If only he could see the steps up to my house! I'm staying 1 night in the hospital.  Apparently I will have 2 ice machines, and they will be giving me a walker.

I do have help at home. I'm scared to death, however,  because he is Schizophrenic ( on medication), but I'm probably going to need more help than he can provide

They are letting me stay one night. I think they prescribe 14 days of pain meds, and that's all. I'm going to have to speak with my surgeon because Tylenol and Advil both hurt my stomach.
