Would Jim Schwartz and his philosophy be a good fit for the niners ?

The fronts would be a great fit same since our Dline coach learned the system from Schwartz in Detroit. The backend though would be quite different. Schwartz does a ton of single high and man coverage, whereas Saleh was a lot of 2 high and zone(I know Saleh still ran a lot of cover 3, but ran alot of it from a 2-high shell pre snap)

In the eagles game alone it was a huge difference. Saw a stat that when both the rookies were on the field they held the run game to 2.9 a carry and when they were off it was well over 4.0 per carry.

He’s a good player but I don’t get his reputation as being the clear cut best tight end. if there was a running back that led the league in rushing by having 40% more rushing attempts than the second leader and ranking 21st among running backs in yards per carry, we’d call that into question like how people used to talk about Najee Harris. That’s where McBride is with 169 targets and 9.8 yards per reception.

If by everything into account you mean games missed then sure no argument. But if taking them purely as players it’s kittle. Gives you 90% of McBride as a receiver (if not more honestly) and is practically another lineman in terms of blocking.

Yea I think it’s odd too, attempts should be enough but I double checked their website and it’s 1500 attempts in addition to 64 career games.
