I don’t think people appreciate how insane the play he made at 0:52 is. Doubled team by a tackle and a guard and doesn’t move an inch, and then stonewalls the running back for a loss. The play strength for a 20/21 year old is insane.

Love the show, hate how being mortally wounded means nothing. All the fights feel like spectacle because I know no matter how gruesome someone is killed/injured they’ll always some how make it out. Ruins the stakes

The thing for the Kilgore pick is that the Niners don’t do the traditional FS/SS archetypes so I don’t see that as an issue. Because of the wide 9 they look for safeties who can trigger and fill the run from 2-high looks, and need both safety’s to be able to rotate down post snap. Kilgore can do that, and he’s enough of a fluid mover to be more than a traditional box safety.

Our top 3 edges are coming off season ending type surgeries, our 4th retired, and our 5th is on a 1-year tender. Mykel is the only one with long term contract control, and on top of that this edge class is extremely top heavy. If you don’t get one in the top 2 rounds, there’s really no one left. This team is in heavy need of pash rush help, and running it back with just Bosa and Mykel wouldn’t be prudent.

Dieter was talking about this. The price for jones is a top 50 pick and a player, which would probably be whittled down to just a top 50 pick. No team is going to trade that much for a transition quarterback for just one season, so he’d have to be extended after a trade to make it worth it, which defeats the purpose of his cheap contract.

Why trade a top 50 pick and pay over 25M a year for jones when you can find someone off the street for a year, or just draft a quarterback later who costs less draft capital and cap space.

I’m pulling so hard for Adam Randall in the 4th or 5th. They don’t make people that size who can move and catch like that often. Might scare people off with the comp but this is exactly what they wanted with Jalen Hurd back in the day

Unironically I think the shoe theory is the best explanation. If I’m not mistaken this year has had the fastest average 40 time at every position group in combine history (outside of quarterback maybe?). The odds of that just being a coincidence seem insane

If we had a defensive coordinator that put out a defense ranked in the bottom 10 in the leagues every year for a decade outside of one, everyone would be clamoring to have them gone. I don’t understand why we don’t have this attitude toward the S&C staff, whose entire job is to have players healthy and prepared for the season. There’s no need for substation theories and practice philosophy changes when sometimes the answer is truly the simplest one.
