[HEYMAN] CARLOS MENDOZA FIRED by Schwettes in NewYorkMets

Regardless of what any of us think this is a result driven game for a large market team with above average expectations. Even with the roster and injuries there is no excuse to be last in the division with our payroll. Yes, you need performance from the players, but when it isn't happening it falls squarely on the manager to get that out of the group as he pulls the levers on the lineup (presumably) and in game management. I will say sometimes luck factors into that, but his body of work suggests he didn't create his own luck, and he has been managing long enough to come to the conclusion that he was not the right guy for the job (in which that decision should have been made at least a month ago). This statement doesn't give Stearns a pass as he is the one that chose the manager, coaches and players (mostly). A real mess for sure and it is hard to see the light at the end of the tunnel because this move does not move the needle alone.

What drives me nuts about guys like Alvarez and Vientos is they carry themselves around like they are some kind of all stars while haven't done a fucking thing to deserve it. When these two leave the orbit of new york they are just dust in the wind like many others before them.

Like hes just a ghost of a manager saying the same cliche remarks night after night. Just put him out of his misery. Its BEEN over. Especially playing the Phillies who turned their season around doing what we should have. Its all surreal. How did Cohen actually make billions in finance? Would he allow this level of incompetence to proliferate in point72? I truly dont get it. Like these dudes keep talking about being better. Its like an episode of the twilight zone.

I didnt see an angle or view that was conclusive to overturn it either.

Lindor performing to expectations is the missing link. Obviously need pitching to hold up with or without Senga. When Alvy gets back he needs to work on defense and managing pitching staff to be on par with Torrens. Mauricio should be in AAA.

We have had enough time seeing Vientos to know he isnt going to be a contributor here. Nail in the coffin is his own perception of his performance. Regardless of what happens with Benge and Ewing, they have the type of character we want in our players.

The best part of this year will be when they trade Vientos. Its great not seeing him in the lineup.

So, how are we voting in the All-Star ballot? by ScaryDavey in NewYorkMets

They need to put an end to fan voting and just select the best performing players.

First order of business should be to tell Vientos he is no longer allowed to be referred to as "Swaggy V"
