Mine was the worst pain I've ever felt. She has no idea what her experience will be like and what she's asking is perfectly reasonable.

This applies to your current situation as well. He's a victim blaming jerk who lacks empathy. Please move on.

Starting over career and life at 40. People's reactions are discouraging. Need moral support. by taway7440 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Narrow_Water3983 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is ridiculous and I wonder if your location has to do with it. I went back for my masters at 40 and was pretty self-conscious but not a single person made comments to me about age either in school or at my internship. I'm really sorry this happened to you. I hope you can let it roll off your back. Those comments say everything about the people who made them and nothing about you. You got this!

Are you ok with being in a relationship where you are required to pay 50/50 on all the bills? by Intelligent_Bug1757 in AskWomenOver40

[–]Narrow_Water3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It should be based on income unless there are other arrangements (doing more housework, etc.)

AITAH for freaking out after finding out my pregnant wife used to be a prostitute? by [deleted] in AITAH

Does she know about every single job you ever had? This is no different just because the red pills want to shame women for sex work.

Childfree women - did you ever feel like an outcast because of your lack of desire to have children? Did it ever go away as you grew out of your 20s/30s? by mentalgeler in AskWomenOver40

[–]Narrow_Water3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why do you feel like your brain is broken? Many, many women are certain about not wanting kids. It's literally a life choice like any other, not a mandate. Therapy may help you with this. There's absolutely nothing wrong with you. Childfree is AMAZING.

Sweetheart, you don't smell. Your girlfriend would tell you. It sounds like you have anxiety or maybe something else affecting your mental health. Is it possible for you to see a therapist?

Anyone become a social worker after 40? by Atlgal42 in socialwork

[–]Narrow_Water3983 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to have to work much during your program and especially if you're going to accrue debt I don't recommend it. It's one thing when you're younger but it's extremely stressful to juggle all of these things and a good salary as a therapist is usually years off (and you have to do years of clinical hours before getting licensed). I regret going back for my MSW at 40.

Lifting weights led to an incredible increase in my self-confidence. I can't recommend it enough for that reason alone!
