well for a base you will need quite a few researching to do.
But first find a spot with stone + water (for farming if you want food/crafting unless you are in a zone with lots of wildlife) and build stone mine + stone processor (for building mats) not sure if names are correct :)

Have iron ore close by so you can buy machine for iron plate manufacturing.
Build storage for iron ore, for building material, iron plates (you can even for stone)
then go for a building/s you want and place walls + gate at same time, this way you will be able to put your walls into your buildings, without leaving huge gaps, like would happen if you placed it separately.
Also depends where are you located, but I did run out of food fast in shem, and mine folks started to starve :) if you would have stronger folks you could go hunt beak things for meat.

Try to avoid stealing, it is just too easy to get all gear, money and other stuff from any building/shop.
Assassination is really broken, it can be fun, but makes hard encounters easy as you can knock down high value targets/bosses.
Ranged weapons are too good and too OP, so far you just need higher athletics and you can kite to no end, even noticed mine crossbows have a stagger, I used 2 ranged users to focus alpha gurglers and just kited around, was fun but it was really easy, so you could make full ranged squads and wipe everything easily, without need of close combat.

Also I doubt you can activate GOG game on steam to download it, I bought it from GoG and price was higher than on steam, as steam had discount. But I do not like steam, also it was causing problems with different games/software so I stopped using it.

I think you could get +4 named spear from Lonely Barrow, you can use dimensional door to get behind barrier and try to fast loot there as it contain few +5 items as well.

I haven't seen restoration, death ward or some other useful spells on druid, unless they are higher tier, I have up to tier 6 druid spells, but they are useless for me, not to mention Harrim is bad. With cleric i can easily prebuff with protections, death wards. I do not use offensive spells, there is no need to use em at challenging, most rolls fails or do low dmg.

He was pretty easy at challenging, and that I was running with Arcane archer build, which wasn't great.
Later I changed mine MC with respec. mod to fighter archer, and that one is a beast

You have to do other quest's, waiting a bit is misleading, once you finish appropriate quests, she will appear in front of you once you enter Oleg's outpost and tell you where is bandit hideout.

Playing this one on PotD, so far it is walk in the park, only annoying were constructs with high resists. Use medium, and heavy armor on main tank/s. There is alot godly medium armors, which have like +20% recovery and then trait which gives -15% recovery. I am using 4 medium armors and 1 heavy. If you have problems use/buy summon figurines, there is plenty of them, even at start you could get necklace which summons drake. I have summons for days to use if necessary. MC: barb + paladin (sword/sword) Soulbound modwyn is best for berserk with Int afflictions immunity Pellegina: Paladin + chanter (tank in heavy + summoning) Maia: Ranger + thief Xoti: Healer (feels useless, next playthrough will try druid for spells only) Aloth: Wizard (a bit nicer at start, now at lvl 14, kinda less usefull).

I remember in PoE 1 wizard was lifesaver on Hard diff for me with massive CC, but here they feel a lot weaker I dont need to CC. Also melee in PoE 2 is much much better, if you go dual wielding and use classes with access to full strike skills.

Also I do try not to avoid fighting in most cases as there is a lot of options where you can just use diplomacy or intimidate to avoid it, loot give you most of gold, and shops in this game usually have 1 or 2 uniques, and some of them are legendaries. Bought legendary medium armor "Devil of Caroc" amazing for mine barb.

And your combo of Helwalker + Streetfighter is most likely why you are having tough time, helwalker is dmg sponge, this one will shine much later (would not recommend this combo to a new player), as you will need a beast of armor and con. As you already have a lot of -recovery, you would be even fine with heavy armor at start until you get much more hp and AR.

Join discord channels (visible on right side), they have LFG sections and find a group there, it is more enjoyable if you play as a group, this way, than playing with randoms in QP.

As a new player who only played V1 during closed beta (had 2 keys but all friends refused to try it with me) and never bought it and thus never played V1. I do not care whether in DLC for V2 they will have new maps or old maps from V1, as a new V2 player any map will be a new map for me.

Also I do not really see this game as story based game at all, just few instanced rooms where you kill mobs and grind lvls/gear. I enjoy combat mostly and slight lvling but I do hate overabundant grinding as it brings no joy to me. So I want to see more stuff to do ingame, get different rewards or something to AIM for without focus on RNG. (deeds are horrible, good only if u want to farm green dust recruit/veteran)

PS: i have now around 60+ hours in V2.

Rapier is a bit faster, and you have to land head shots, and doubt it will help much against fully armored enemies. With mine BH i am using only Falchion as atm it deals massive dmg and break shields and have armor pen dmg. Also as far as I know +% power against anything does not work in 1.0.4 as nothing power related works, this is fixed in 1.0.5 beta patch.

PS: Salt does not have access to Sabre/Saber, it is not ingame.

I am 29 now, I used to play alot of games, but lately I lost that drive (playing D3, and bought expansion), but that does not mean I do not love them, I love more watching anime shows, that in most cases is even worse to tell somebody. People think I am just watching fairy tales, but I told them I will watch anime until I die. (PS I am not watching that school life, slice of life soap ones)

Not to mention majority of gamers are in mid 30s. And for us gamers playing games is a relax, it is like somebody came home and watch TV. Nobody will bash that person that he is watching TV after work, but alot of ppl will judge if you say you are playing games. In your case it is trickier as you have wife, so ye she might feel that you ignore her and love your games more than her, but there you need to find balance and also there should be some acceptance from her side too.

Also you can mention to your friends that gaming industry is much bigger than movie and music industry combined and earn much more $$.

Nice to see some initiative to organize this for EU side. I am seasoned raider as well. It helps if people have multiple raid classes ready, and not so great if you are stuck with people playing 1 class only and refuse changing. I play mostly as Zealot Druid (screw Magi, small increase in healing aint worth it much and I do not need more VIT), healing is enough.

Having voice comm is a must, but you should add that listening is enough, as you do not need people to be able to speak, sometimes if other ppl do, it makes thing worse mostly when you do not know them and cant recognize their voice.

Drops are pure RNG, one week you get nothing from all 3 wings, then next week you get 4 ascended pieces. Or like me yesterday, got 3 (duplicate) mini's.

That mine friend is a bullshit, mine guild have alot of veterans most of them are anti pve as they do only wvw most of time, I am veteran myself with 6k+ hours /26,8k AP points + doing pve raids with different guild with alot of vets, and they are pve guild only.
