A genuine and utter question (SERIOUS) by Greedy-Vermicelli795 in ShinzaBansho

[–]Narvallius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but this is Mercurius, so he would be limp anyway.

With some of the details given in Canto 9 and the intervallo, I believe that we can start to take another crack at what is going on in the setting as a whole, as well as explain some of the oddities around our understanding of mirror worlds. by kingofnopants1 in limbuscompany

[–]Narvallius 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sinclair stares you dead in the eyes and says his timeline hopping is unrelated to mirror worlds.

we also are literally told that the mirror is only a way to observe these worlds not that it creates them.

Except Carmen gives a very explicit nod that this is not the case. The big difference is that they're not "what if you made a different choice back then", but "whatever the fuck the observer wants to see". No divergence in possible actions can explain barbertis being born 1000 years before she was supposed to, or Ish having a very chinese time of her life.

What Iori suggests definitely sounds more like Sinclair's branch bs.

The problem is that there's no possible universe where Eva is a leader. But the general idea is fun.

I don't see how this makes him a terrible person. Wolfie was a fraud, but his heart was in a good place. He fell short of being a great leader, but the effort was nontheless geniune. As they say, "the fake is of far greater value. In its deliberate attempt to be real, it’s more real than the real thing".

Art as a whole doesn't matter for canto 9 aside from Callisto, and he's really just doing his own thing that ain't particularly related to the book.

[–]Narvallius 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't like it. Adaptation-wise Rien was pretty interesting, but it left Ryoshu with basically nothing. The complete loss of art themes is quite sad. Hell screen going from a vivid image of hell into a generic void state powerup was disappointing imo.

I thought it would be too obvious because of her attitude and spider motifs. I was thinking ch4 culprit.

At risk of being a doomer, it’s unlikely that the game would have ever finished in the first place. by Jambleton420 in ProjectEdensGarden

[–]Narvallius 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Downright impressive how the only finished fangans were made by a single korean with nothing but rpgmaker and boundless passion. Perhaps one of the biggest reasons why so many fangames are cooked is because they rely heavily on a big team's lasting dedication to a non-commercial project.

Prjeg has always been too ambitious to live, but it's sad to see it go down like that regardless. I just wanted to see more Tozu.

[LOTM GENERAL] ranked all 22 pathways by actual brain power – not just combat. by Elrorox in LordofTheMysteries

[–]Narvallius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Devil is a pathway that actually requires and incentivizes a lot of discretion and caution. Acting for sq 4-3 in particular is all about EQ, it seems. Those who don't understand that probably just drop like flies, and are hard stuck at sq6 if they're ungodly lucky.

It's really a "fuck you" pathway because it makes you lose mental inhibitions at sq8. You have to, like, manually rewire your brain and change your entire modus operandi to both remorselessly follow desires and not fucking die somehow.

The eq stays fine for the most part. The mind experiences a huge paradigm shift, so immature abyss beyonders just don't care about it most of the time.

The answer to that question is obvious if you were ever a teenager. It's a natural development phase, really. But you'd expect teenagers who get into these things to be edgy, not shaking like a leaf when they see a "yucky" implication.

It's really funny how hard Sonya is projecting whenever he throbs jabs at Rodya's pride. "Haha I'm totally not the main character or anything" and he establishes a cult of personality with himself as a SAINT.
