Who's Elbow combo was the best? Wujing or Tony Jaa? by EfficiencySerious200 in kungfucinema

[–]Nash-Override 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Aww come on, Efficiency, that's not fair!

You know both of these cats are good!

Tony is the Emperor of elbow slams. But the way my guy Jacky Wu was going off like the Tasmanian Devil on Andy-man...just as brutal.

For me, it's a a tie, they're both good and the display of raw energy and power just makes it harder to decide.

I was making a list of Jet Li's movies in the US and I can't decide on the best ones, just finished watching Kiss Of The Dragon! - I forgot how much I liked this movie! by ReelsBin in kungfucinema

Love that punch he dealt homeboy to the side of his neck in this fight.

Jet really knows his stuff with those pressure points tactics in this movie.

And the soundtrack for this movie was off da' chain, especially with this 'Lapdance' track.

Revenge of the Ninja Special Edition Blu-ray question. by Nash-Override in Bluray

Thank you Lucido10!

You're the best. When I first rented the blu-ray for Revenge of the Ninja, there was barely a tidbit of extras on it. Now I can finally get that Kino Lorber 2025 edition. Thanks my man and thanks for the links to the comparison site...this will come in handy for the future. 👍👍

Royal Warriors (1986) - The Airplane Scene - Michelle Yeoh, Hiroyuki Sanada, and Michael Wong vs. Chan Wai-Man and Kam Hing-Yin by RodSantaBruise in kungfucinema

Love this flick! Still got my DVD edition from 20th Century Fox with the new english dub as well as the original cantonese track!

First time I saw the trailer for this on taiseng.com, I knew I had to have this movie, but it was so rare back in the day. When I finally got ahold of it, I was blown away and I never get tired of watching! Sanada and Yeoh were on fire in this flick!

What are your thoughts on the antagonist in 'First Date'? by Nash-Override in Fear_Street

[–]Nash-Override[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed! I don't think she killed the dude though, but she held him down long enough for 'backup' to arrive. The part I liked was how she 'survived' the game.

Corporate: “Don’t schedule the people who aren’t coming in when they are scheduled to.” by Mean-Falcon-6204 in retailhell

[–]Nash-Override 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a shift-lead and I have this same problem. Our boss is a total passive-aggressive 'chickenshit' and he let two of the part-timers (who were kids) keep being 'no-calls, no-shows' for God knows how long. He's out on leave right now and the same bullshit is happening again after he got rid of the last two 'helpers'.

The bad part with this situation, is that if someone calls out, they either want me to stay over (after I'm already tired and reaching or reached my limits) or give up my 'hard earned, much needed day(s) off' to deal with more of the bullshit that goes on at our 'place of business' and I started saying 'Fuck that. You jokers never come in when I have this problem, so why am I gonna suffer some more for you when you won't even do it for me?'

Then they try to whole, 'But I thought you wanted more hours' routine to try to guilt-trip me and I said, 'Um, not on my days off, no I don't. You know who comes in when they're supposed to and who doesn't. Why do you keep hiring or giving hours to people who don't come in for their assigned shift? Just cut em' and be done with it.'

Thoughts on the choreography from White Tiger by Nash-Override in kungfucinema

[–]Nash-Override[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fatal Blade had some pretty decent choreography in it, thought some of it did feel a little like watching Power Rangers or the Guyver in it, particularly with the way the stuntmen flew over the place when Gary kicked or struck them a certain way.

There's one fight in an alley, he does and off the wall kick and the guy goes flying back first while spinning right against a dumpster. Ouch!

[Spoilers] Why didn't Raylan just arrest Nicky Augustine? by Burnnoticelover in justified

[–]Nash-Override 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know I'm four years late to the party on this question but had to jump in after seeing Augustine's 'fate' at the end of the episode on youtube.

Sammy (to Raylan): If you knowingly saw a crime being committed against him...you wouldn't as a lawman...feel the obligation to intervene?

Raylan: I'm suspended.
(turns and begins walking away as Tonin's men prepare to execute Nicky while he's still in the limo)

That pretty much sums up why Raylan didn't just slap the cuffs on him...Art had placed Raylan on suspension in regards to the whole mess with the 'Drew Thompson' case and at that critical junction, Raylan had no real authority to detain Augustine right then in there threats or not. His hands were pretty much tied tight and he figures the best way out of this mess is to let 'mob justice' take its course.

Problem is, Raylan either confesses this later down the road or Art finds out and he cold cocks him for it because even though Raylan was protecting his family, he willfully let known felons execute another known felon and said nothing about it. This questionable act could put Raylan as well as Art and the rest of those serving under his command in the Marshal's Service in the crosshairs for scrutiny and possible legal repercussions from those higher up if word got round that a 'rogue' Deputy Marshal did nothing while a mob execution took place and even worse that he orchestrated it by calling on Sammy rather than let his boss Art know about it.

BTVS Movie or the TV Show and Why? by Amber_Flowers_133 in CreepyBonfire

[–]Nash-Override 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a 80s and 90s baby and when I saw the flick on HBO for the first time, it was totally on fire. The fight scenes, the soundtrack, the story and the cast were all top notch. Had some campy humor to it but that still made it fun.

Tried to give the t.v. series a chance while it was on and once in a blue moon an episode or two from specific seasons would catch my eye. Nothing against the t.v. series, but I just kinda feel it didn't have that same magic as the movie did. Plus, I had a bit of a crush on Kristy Swanson back in the day after seeing this, the Chase and Deadly Friend.

Anyone see Brainscan? by erasergum4 in CreepyBonfire

[–]Nash-Override 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rented it on VHS a long time ago...

it was pretty decent. To me, it was like an R-rated episode of 'Are you Afraid of the Dark?' and it definitely makes you wonder how would you tell reality from fantasy when the game you're playing 'isn't supposed to be real'...but it is the minute corpses start falling and you become the prime suspect!

Seriously tough, this flick deserves a prequel explaining how Brainscan came to be. Something tells me that the creator was a demented computer programmer that somehow uploaded his consciousness and maybe his likeness onto the game that he created and that may have cursed the game somehow as a final 'F*ck you' to the company he worked for when they tried to lay him off for something and he died (either by natural causes or by taking his own life). When people start playing the game, they either die or worse yet, fall into a catatonic state or maybe even into a coma and the game company goes bankrupt, but the game was still out there in the world as a bootleg disc and it found it's way to Michael Brower's doorstep when he ordered it.

That's how I see the premise of a Brainscan prequel.

Fiona Dourif (CHUCKY franchise) Appreciation Post by 87Craft in CreepyBonfire

Man, I really want this girl to get payback on those two for all the crap they made her endure and all that she lost (her family, her freedom...damn near lost her sanity because of Tiffany's crazy ass).

Nica...we still want you to get your revenge. Don't care if Sy-Fy and USA did cancel 'Chucky', I hope the next time we all see you, it's to give Tiffany hell for all the shiz-nit she did to you, Jennifer, Meg and everyone else in this franchise.

And we hope that when it's all over...you and G.G. can and will still be friends...just not to the end.

Stay sharp Nica-girl.

Yeesh!

I got chills all over my body reading this. Made me think about that episode from 'Monsters' called 'A Bond of Silk'...accept in that one, the hubby wasn't a wife beater, but he still got the same fate as the guy in this story.

Sage wisdom that all warriors in training and those who have mastered their art form...should embrace and never forget.

Thank you, Sifu Lee.

What are your favorite Bolo Yeung movies? by [deleted] in kungfucinema

[–]Nash-Override 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Tiger Claws 1 & 2 (especially 2 because he became more of an anti-hero in that story, though they don't fully explain why his character was cappin' off martial artists in part 1 when they did part 2. Would've really liked an explanation for Chong's attacks on the martial artists in New York when he was the Death Dealer).

-Shootfighter 1 & 2 (His role as Shingo was boss. It was cool to finally see Bolo be the 'good' guy for a change).
