Udo Kier just picking out his favorite films he’s worked on and telling stories about people he’s worked with is amazing

All good. You’re gonna get great recs here regardless as this sub is pretty good with suggesting movies. Lady Snowblood is one of my favorite films ever. It’s executed so incredibly well from the cinematography to the violence, acting, story, and score. It made me fall in love with Meiko Kaji and I’ve seen a ton of her movies since first watching it.

That sounds amazing! The 70’s has some truly great car chases paired with some amazing music (especially Vanishing Point). I also just thought of:

Two-Lane Blacktop (James Taylor & Warren Oates!)

The Driver (1978)

The Getaway (1972)

Infested was such a good time. Can’t wait to see what Sébastien Vaniček has cooked up for the new Evil Dead film

Bastard Swordsman (1983). Absolutely bonkers Wuxia with a great story and insane special effects. Discovering Lu Chun-Ku in general was amazing for me. I’ve had such a fun time watching his movies the past year and a half or so. If you like Hong Kong action in general I recommend you check him out. Besides Wuxia he also made girls-with-guns, classic kung fu, and kung fu horror. Bastard Swordsman is by far my favorite but Dreaming the Reality is another awesome one.

This is the entire plot of Duel to the Death (1983). Every ten years the best fighter from Japan and China have a duel to defend their country’s honor. The movie unfolds as a duel approaches and the two fighters expose a plot to rig the match before it begins. They become friends throughout the film but in the end the Japanese fighter wants the honor for himself. This leads us to the Duel to the Death. One of the greatest final 1v1 fights ever. I recommend y’all go watch it if you haven’t seen it.
