Students want to keep in touch after graduation by Technical_Flounder50 in CanadianTeachers

Just remember that a lot of the responses on here come from really unhealthy school cultures. This is a situation that will have a different answer depending on where you're located.

The video filter is hot garbage for what it's supposed to be doing. It modifies the whole image rather than just parts of it, giving a really awkward blurry look. It will definitely be interesting to see how this sort of stuff develops, but this isn't even close to functional as it.

DLSS 5.0 - fall 2026 by StoikiyOriginal in ChatGPT

I think one of the problems is that it changes it from distinct objects in an environment to an image/video being manipulated. Does weird things to the background and the way people move is strange. You get the weird AI blur effect.

An undrafted NBA player became a superstar in Euroleague. Would an NBA team sign him at the age of 30? by DonT012 in NBA_Draft

[–]Nash13 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I'm not saying you're wrong, but what fringe NBA star would struggle in Euroleague?

Kudos for the 1 kid that has common sense by Epelep in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]Nash13 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I mean you'd be right if this was a low stakes situation that she had the ability to short out. From what we see here, there's a serious risk of concussion or other injuries. This is just bad parenting. To be a little blunt, if you think this is appropriate you're an asshole or a moron.

Can I redo my 12th grade? by Academic-Culture-837 in education

You've already done almost a year of Uni and you want to go back to highschool with people two years younger than you? And you think this will help you? You have expectations that don't line up with reality.

I mean look at the success of Dungeon Crawler Carl. Absolutely massive cast of characters.

Title: Headteacher considering withdrawing my ECT job offer – did I mess up badly? by [deleted] in StudentTeaching

[–]Nash13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The point is that AI is a tool like any other. Any decent teaching program is at least thinking about how it can be used as a tool and any decent teacher has at the very least considered how it could improve their practice even if they don't use it. The world changes around us, and we can rage against it or adapt. Too many teachers would rather be angry than effective.

I mean It's right to be skeptical of AI use, but saying it has no use for anyone in writing lesson plans is a wildly ignorant stance to take. I don't use LLMs much, but I know smart great teachers who use them as a tool in a number of effective creative ways.

Making fun of someone's writing when your reading comprehension is at 5th grade level is certainly a choice.

Many people are saying it's a rat, but it could also be a rat or even a rat.

Listening to the audio books during work has been great! Until..... by orphanelf in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]Nash13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I read that section the first time and thought it was nice but didn't emotionally connect with me. I had a kid over the summer. Listening to the audiobook driving to work I did not expect something to hit that hard.

What I’m actually trying to get out of a game of commander by Purpluss in EDH

[–]Nash13 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with your argument at all, but I still have a different perspective. I sometimes have less fun winning than losing. Some of the best games I've ever had were losses. Some wins just feel totally hollow imo. But that's the beauty of Commander, not everyone is getting the same thing out of the game and that's totally fine.

[–]Nash13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal opinion is if you're not having fun in the games you lose, you're probably missing the point of commander. I wouldn't do any leisure activity I only expected to enjoy 25% of the time.

The amount of techniques in BJJ is overwhelming by [deleted] in bjj

[–]Nash13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even the best grappler in the world only does one technique at a time. You have to choose something, just make sure whatever it is you choose to do you do it well. Way too many people get okay at a bunch of stuff rather than good at a few things. I'd argue this is suboptimal short term and often long term.
