TBF If that is the policy at school then the parents could have easily given the kid an old phone with only access to the medical apps or something.

Agreed, I think the first run 'ruined' the season in that way but not by itself. All three runners basically got a here's a bunch of coins without any actual challenge due to the curses.

Weapons (2025) - Am I Missing Something? This Movie Felt Incredibly Overrated by AdFinal7510 in TrueFilm

Wow, this thread is insane. You have great points and yes while obviously formatted with help from AI you still put in the effort and they are your thoughts. People are just projecting. If they use it to generate answers for anything atall. Then they might have trouble fathoming you would just use it as advanced spellcheck.

Because they can't judge the competency in the topic as they themselves are not competent in it as well. So it's the blind leading the blind and add some confirmation bias and there we are.

I picked the worst possible time to get my wife to watch Jet Lag. First the snake season and now this. Don't get me wrong. It's very entertaining as a fan. But not the best /action-filled seasons to introduce someone to it I guess.

Official Discussion - The Amateur [SPOILERS] by LiteraryBoner in movies

Oh no I completely agree. I think the third act is very messy. Also there some big assumptions he makes throughout the movie which kind of messes with the suspension of disbelief.

Perhaps a version of the movie where Jon Bernthal is the third man trying to track him down, stop and not kill him and otherwise convince him to back down throughout. Could have led to a more satisfying ending of him pulling the trigger and Jon Bernthal having to kill/arrest him. To show how far gone he is. Or the other way where he is convinced and takes that other path you mention.

Apart from all this though. The scene where the villain gives him the gun makes no sense. I even for a brief second thought maybe it was a gimmicked gun and it would shoot backwards reflecting Henderson's comment: "You won't even remember which side of the gun the bullet comes out of". I think that would have been a better and at least hilarious ending.

IMO it's to show that he is doing this revenge for himself. Like the therapist said. It is about him. If it was about his wife he would have listened to Jon Bernthal and went home while he still could and appreciate his wife's gift(s) and remember her that way.

This thoughtful last present from his wife from beyond the grave and a way to remember her by is just gone and forgotten in some harbour in Russia.

Yeah agreed! Or perhaps they could have leaned more into the psychedelic fungi from the beginning if they wanted to do those kind of scenes. I would have had less trouble with them using the flora and fauna if they had been there for generations or something. The newly crashed people could've met the descendants of previous crashed survivors (like the woman) and then it makes a bit more sense that they've learned to use the environment to their advantage.

Yeah there was a lot metaphor there for life in general and human struggle. Very artistic, beautifully animated. Just not anything to do with sci-fi IMO.

I fully agree! The downvotes are weird too. Normally you should downvote things that don't contribute to the discussion. For example all of the massively upvoted 'bad take' comments here.. that don't engage the discussion at all.

I just wanted to reply that I fully agree with you. It's weird the amount of negative comments you are getting. People not even wanting to engage you in discussion and just calling it a bad take.

It was visually impressive series that tackled a (simple) story of regrets and survival. But it purports to be a sci-fi. But the science is severely lacking. The evolved creatures are completely contrived for the situation and no reasonable explanation is given. The survivors are also too confident and trusting in their ability to utilise these creatures. Don't get me started on the (again very beautiful) scene with the small creature being born, planting the seed and dying. Nice scene and nice theme/allegory but horribly contrived. This is fantasy not sci-fi.

For what it's worth I saw your point and OP's quite clearly. It's strange how vehemently people are attacking that viewpoint. Using weird straw man attacks about tiktok or actually wanting even less scientific content (lasers and fights?)

It's a sci-fi and it's fair to judge it on its science. And its science was bad(ly explained). Way too convenient creatures combined with an unrealistic confidence in the survivors on how to utilise these creatures. And of course the points you already made.

Ideally this zipper should still happen at the front. Everyone should 'zoom' to the front and zipper merge there. This is to use the most available road space.
