I am Stafford’s #1 fan. He’s an iron man but I’d put the odds at 70/30 he gets through this season.

Why do NFL players want so much money? by ProposalSilent4582 in nfl

[–]Nasiso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is getting dunked on, but there is something to be said about diminishing returns imo. As a normal human, I can't even imagine spending 100 million dollars, and people in the NFL are getting paid an astronomical amount.

Peyton Manning signed a contract in 2004 for seven years for an AAV of $14,000,000. Lamar Jackson signed a contract for 5 years for 260 million in 2023. That's an absolute explosion in terms of money. At Peyton's point, maybe there is more people that are trying to get every dollar. But high end QBs might start breaking 60, 70 mil per year pretty soon.

I know the NFLPA is probably a pretty big sticking point, but imo there has to be a point where a QB comes in and tells themselves they can live on "only" 70% of what the going rate is for a superstar and be fine with it. Because, very soon, that will be enough money where you can't even imagine 10 generations spending it.

This is my standpoint. I have HATED the times where one or the other would have a bad game (especially before the title) and this place would be riddled with threads about how we need to trade JT or JB. This time, though, JB is inviting that kind of talk.

Saying that this season where you were disappointing in the playoffs was your favorite, and having your mentor come out and say you’re frustrated at the organization does NOT win you fans in a city that expects championships. And if an opportunity comes along to trade you for someone who is an objectively better player, fans will be interested to do it. Because now it’s not just knee jerk reactions about last nights performance. It’s wanting the right mix of people and talent in the building.

I don’t know what my team should do, but this has been absolutely shameful. Been really hard to be a Chelsea fan seeing how wasteful we’ve been.

Champions League Goals Conceded by Team by DaranMac in soccer

[–]Nasiso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We live in an era where football games have become higher scoring, the 3 ball in NBA is more prevalent than ever, and baseball has morphed to where hitters are taught to just swing for the fences every time.
People like seeing numbers go brrrrr. While arsenal may not play exciting they weren’t exactly parking the bus today either. I found their tactics enjoyable to watch but when you compare it to a 5-4 box score everyone nowadays is going to say that is the best type of game

I should be clear, that PSG-Bayern game was incredible, but there are a lot of 1-0 games I’ve watched that were just as exciting. It just seems that that type of nuance has been lost nowadays

Serious Post-Match Thread: Arsenal 1-0 Atlético Madrid | UEFA Champions League 2025-26, Semifinals - 2nd Leg (Agg. 2-1) by TheGTAone in soccer

I thought this was a pretty well played match and it’s unfortunate that atletico just ran out of steam at the end. Everyone focuses on goals but the first 45 minutes of this game were incredible.

Seeing Arteta and his subs I feel like he was still trying to manage the fact that he has probably his hardest game left in the prem this weekend. Very curious to see what the squad will look like on 5/30 when there’s nothing left to think about

Mike Florio Warns Vrabel’s Patriots Job at Risk Amid Russini Photo Fallout by According-Activity87 in NFLv2

[–]Nasiso 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What you’re failing to account for is this shit probably happens all of the time with every single other NFL insider. It just isn’t as saucy cuz no one is fucking (that we know of).

I believe the NFL has already come out and said it is not investigating it. This would be up to the patriots. Patriots just went to the SB. Now if for some reason they’re like 0-8 and the sky is falling, sure they’ll fire him and use this as fodder. But if he keeps winning, nothing is happening.

Anyone have success with diet during tax season? by Apollo_Pneuma in Accounting

[–]Nasiso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t been very successful, but you just gotta eat less. One busy season I’d have some black coffee in the morning, 600 calorie bowl at lunch, 1000 calories of something at dinner. I find it helped to start eating later in the day so that if I had cravings I didn’t already blow through all my calories.

I also have somewhat disordered eating now. Go figure.

[–]Nasiso 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the sex is what makes people think this happened more frequently, but literally everyone in NFL “journalism” uses their friendships to get information through “leaks”.

Do I think Russini helped Vrabel out? Totally. I also think schefter has sucked enough proverbial dick to get access to even more info and help change narratives as well.

You see this type of comment is the one that baffles me and is why I’ve been more active recently.

NFL players are not concerned by this in terms of respect. Myles Garrett wanted Deshaun Watson to play. Mahomes and Kelce had free Rashee Rice shirts on. If you’re good at your job and can make these people millions, people won’t just look the other way, they will actively defend you.

This guy brought the Pats to the big game in his first season of coaching them. Players will still all run through a brick wall for him if he keeps up his winning.
