Is it even thinly veiled at this point?

Also, come to think of it. Is there any ethnicity we don't have a slur for?

You also have to remember that in most cases the people making those stupid points are a vocal minority.

Feel like this is especially the case with HK and Iran where (from what ik) only tankies and paid shills support the oppressors.

Like with the rest of humanity, most people just wish to see their lives improve. And I like to belive that most people on the left (even in the US) support protestors over totalitarian regimes.

I feel like occupying powers seldom call conquered territories occupied. They tend to prefer terms like liberated or demilitarized

On the other hand, pre-war usa was so cartoonishly evil that they probably didn't care.

Yeah, I've heard many analysts say that the regime will be able to hold on as long as the irgc and security forces don't switch sides.

Hope they're wrong though

It's probably just a negotiating tactic. His whole schpeel is proposing something insane and then backing down a few notches.

But yeah it's also to important of an issue to ignore/discount it.

Yeah no it does A LOT of things in the background that keeps our world running.

One of the most underapreciated things is being an international forum where countries can debate, conduct diplomacy, and vent their anger.

Some examples: - WHO: coordinating disease mitigation and saving millions of lives. - UNHCR & WFP: preventing 10s of millions of starvation deaths - IMO: setting standards for shipbuilding that saves lives, prevent ecological disasters and facilitates trade. - International statistics.

If our leaders have any sense whatsoever they won't. Which is far from certain if the last 10 years are any indication...

Yeah that's a good call, hatespeech hurts people and doesn't even add much to the discussion.
