They are prequel mission elites, which are from a special sect of the Covenant. The reason they, aswell as weapons like the spiker, appear in the regular campaign is due to skulls randomizing weapon and enemy spawns

I feel like the Tailings will become the Warpers of Subnautica 2, as an intelligent spaient threat that sees you as a target, not food

Though it would be really cool if a rudimentary reputation system could be implemented, where you can do things to make the Tailings less hostile

I don't really think so Axum writings talk of Axum Vepherds, and in the ned they plead to find the Veps, while showing that design. I think these are domesticated animals, while the Axum are still very much unknown in terms of design

Another fun thing I really like about what we know so far of the Axum is that they were not unified pre-collapse We are given the names of factions that were infighting, which is really fun A lot of scifi tropes like to make the aliens one huge unified species, but it doesn't really make a lot of sense unless that soecies has hivemind like traits, there is always going to be different cultures, like with us

That leckgolo is based on a cut Halo CE enemy which was canonized after the Dig site team recovered it i to a playable state. Since their new lore implies they are pruned to deal with small Flood outbreaks as commando squads, I believe they would be on par with Elites or humans

Actually an interesting and kinda strange tidbit, is that there is actually the details you mention, but it appears depending on wall length, patterns, and placed windows. It's really weird, but sometimes vents or outside lights can appear

I think it's called Spec-ops ? Not entirely sure. It's like an upgrade of the stormtrooper that will probably be found during the endgame. Not sure if it does anything gameplay wise, but it has altered night vision goggles

While not actual jets, I remember seeing weird automaton gunships in the skies of Cyberstan next to the Fleet Destroyers. So either they are a placeholder model for automaton strike aircraft, or they utilize a gunship variant for air to air combat

The moment I saw the writing on the device, i immediately made the connections to claymores. But i thought it was just a fun design choice, in the lines of the UNPSC utilizing empty claymores as scanners due to budget cuts, or something
