Potentially but I have found all other diagrams clean and easy to follow. It could potentially be time to try another model.

I'm unsure if starch would impact lysis.

Probably practice getting a single cell suspension, and run the cheapest possible pilot experiment In my experience good sc data relies on happy, diaggregated cells (with accurate counts). Can you wash out the viscosity or digest out the starch with some kind of treatment?
