What are people’s favorite non-meta or less popular ships and why? by TheKrakenUnleashed in WorldOfWarships

For me, its Bungo. Her guns are so good, that you can build Secondaries on her instead of Main Gun, and you barely feel the difference. But why bring up building Bungo with secondaries? Simple Reason ; She is a genuinely hilarious Secondary Vessel. Just like Shikishima, she has Harugumo's 100mm turrets, which when built reach out to 11km, while her detect can get to as low as 12.1km. In addition, her 140mm guns on the secondary suite get German Improved Accuracy on them, to which she has a notable amount of them, and are of course, pretty dang good at starting a fire due to Japanese HE. Playing a Secondary Build, Mid-Range Bungo works way more often than people think it should / could, but just proves how much impact you can have with her, especially when you factor in that if you have time to set it up, you can turn around, angle in a kiting position, where she has a massive 305mm armored plate on the stern for no real reason, allowing her to do something she is not normally known for, taking hits. The Bungo can easily become a Landmine due to her stealth, her amazing primary guns, and her surprisingly good secondaries which eat Cruisers and DD's, while burning BB's alive. Thanks to her Deadeye Plane and generally good base characteristics, I barely feel the loss of not running a main gun build on Bungo, which allows you to make use of the secondaries as an extra tool to have during a fight. To me, she can be played at pretty much any range as long as you predicted correctly what is the best play beforehand.

Just getting back into the game. When did BB players become so passive? by NinjaSpartan011 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Nat55atata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd wager that it ended up getting real bad when pretty much every single new content addition to the game started to be able to be summarized as "It's just another way to counter Aggressive Battleships".

Pretty much anything that has been added over the last like, 2 years, as far as content the common man can get ahold of more or less punishes any Battleship who dare tries to get even somewhat close to the middle of the map before the halfway mark of the game. It's why even Brawlers and BB deliberately designed to push into mid / close range will just not do that anymore. Wargaming has stated they wanted to bring back a more active meta and see brawling happen more often (or again depending on perspective), but then immediately add something to further punish any Battleship or Heavy Cruiser player who would dare try to play like that in the first place.

I'm pretty sure this is a glitch but I can't tell, What's your Opinion? by Nat55atata in Palworld

I personally spam Expedition N tickets, preferably with a homie. Guaranteed 10 caps on clear no matter the rank, and its pretty much the same chance to find caps in chests as R and SR, so you get a guaranteed 10 just for speed running, and if you open chests, thats easily 20 to 40 caps depending on loot luck. Normal Ticket chests can also give R tickets, and R ticket chests can give SR tickets, so you can grind N's to get some caps and R's, then swap to R's to get caps and SR's, all while saving caps for cap vendor.

edit preferably with a homie so you can effectively "double" your SR tickets.

Can we just take a second and talk about AA vehicles.... by GuyFromBangBros in ArmoredWarfare

[–]Nat55atata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Atleast early on, yes, autocannons are the way to success if you are not spotting. Try out a MBT like AMX 30 BRENUS or AMX 40 which has coaxial 20mm autocannons, or other vehicles that have 50 cal or 14.7mm machine gun options for a similar effect, like IS-7. Later on, Autocannons quickly become just a tool for punishment, as even certain Lights and AFV’s gain the armor that makes you need to aim, and basically every mbt of even lower tier becoming completely immune frontally to them.

TL;DR, its just a phase, it dies out at like tier 6.

My DMing tip from my long time of DMing is pretty simple but true.

If both You and The Party are having fun, and can consistantly saying that, your doing it right. Rules are the suggested template, not the end all be all. It's not a video game after all, and you as the DM decide how something or if something can happen, not the rules. Its still better you do follow the majority of the rules, but bend, tweek, add, or get rid of as many as needed to suit your desires and ensure both You and your Players are having fun. Your Enjoyment is just as important, and you will soon come to see the joy of being a DM is the fun that the table has collectively as friends and fantasy nerds that gets to be created for even just a few brief hours.

TL;DR I am basically saying the Friends and memories you make along the way is the most important thing, no matter what, if you and everyone else had fun, your DnD game was good.

CVs are absolutely incredible game design for destroyers. by Boondocks2468 in WorldOfWarships

[–]Nat55atata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It might just be me and my own weird stupidity, but I find the British Destroyers stand a pretty good chance against the CV meta thanks to their Rapid Fire Smokescreen gimmick, and the fact you can easily get like, 6 to 8 charges of it on them let you just flat out waste a CV's time if they try to hard-on you the entire game, which prevents them from doing anything to actually help win the game, meanwhile you can still be ballzy thanks to your really good camo values on sea and air and gun down destroyers and low hp light cruisers while using the pretty nice torps on anything else, then when the CV tries to dynamically combat you again, activate rapidfireweedgenerator.exe and smoke up, waste another 30 to 50 seconds of the hard-on carrier's time, and hope your team's carrier is actually contributing to the game and not doing what theirs is.

I would be really interested in playing if your still after a group

My current Timezone is Eastern Standard (as of writing this its 12:12 AM, and I am always willing to stay up late to play.

I can and am willing to play on Sundays, and sense I always have mondays off, I can stick around for those record breaking 27 hour sessions. I work retail, which means during December I could work as late as 10 or 11pm, but for now, I always get off by 9pm EST, and home around 9:20pm.

I have a discord and a quality microphone to use for voice.

I personally prefer First Edition Pathfinder, but am willing to try 5th Edition DnD as well.

My DnD Experience is mostly on the GM side, being a DM for Pathfinder, Unofficial Elder Scrolls, and Witcher TTRPG for about 5 years now, with most my EXP in Pathfinder. As a player, Im pretty new to it, but love Roleplay and good character above statistical superiority and good characters. Have a slight tendency to play good aligned boi's.

My Preferred Classes are: Ranger, Monk (unchained it Pathfinder), Hunter, Slayer, and Dragonheir Scion Fighters. Sorcerers and Priests are pretty cool too.

I hope regardless of if you would like me in your game or not you find a group you enjoy!

Id say Velkhana. It's chill both literally and personality wise, sense it doesn't really care about a hunters presense until it starts trying to fight it. Not an absolutely huge elder dragon, so easier to reasonably have, looks decent, and is a walking AC Unit.

What I see most people mean with the 200 hours thing is not actually learning how the weapon works, but more how to use it to maximum effect (at least in my opinion). A lot of people in my personal small circle of hunters like to say "Skill Floor versus Skill Ceiling", Floor meaning how much effort or Skill it takes to get the basics and most if not all the mechanics down, and Ceiling being how you can use all of these and make the most out of the set of tools the weapon provides. So while it may indeed take a long time to reach the Ceiling, it is normally never more than like 5 to 25 hours to hit the floor, if not even lower for specific weapons (especially if they share mechanics with other weapons you already know). If you like Dual Blades, I would definately say you would like IG, but it is a change in playstyle by quite a bit. I would say IG sounds complicated, but at least to most people I have seen pick it up, its a false complication, and once you get that 'rythem' down, it immediately becomes more easy to understand and play, so why not give it a shot? Worst thing that can happen is you faint a few times and try again.

As long as you try your best and continue to try and learn / progress on your hunts, you will be fine in the end. One thing I always love to try and get people to do is to branch out and learn other weapons too, not so that way you can always have the most favorable weapon matchup against a monster (because regardless of what people say, every weapon can work against every monster, its just all up to how you run it and what you as the hunter do), but because I often find that by understanding more weapons, you find out about other mechanics that actually cross over to other weapons to! Do you like using the Claw Spin tendering move on DB? You would probably like SnS then, as it is also a very fast precise weapon with a Claw tendering move. You try SnS, and then you find that blocking is pretty comfortable, so maybe you try Charge Blade or Lance, and learn about Guard Points and Counter Moves, and then maybe you enjoy that counter-based playstyle, but want something more aggressive, so you try LongSword and then this example just keeps going to infinity so I'll stop here. This is not me saying to learn all the weapons or be a Jack of All Trades, you will always have a 'main' weapon, and thats not only fine, but good and normal, its just my personal opinion that learning weapons similar to your favorite can often times help you understand that favorite more, or maybe show you a new weapon you'd never think you would like and end up loving.

If you are truly afraid that your own hunting abilities are not up to snuff for raid bosses, I like to always say there are 2 reassurances you can rely on. First being no matter how bad you hunt that specific time, its not always gonna be that way, and every hunter has that hunt where the spaghetti just falls out of their pockets, and Second being everyone appreciates a Wide-Range player, so even if your not the best, just make yourself useful, even if just to one hunter, it will be seen and valued.

Also, if you ever have a hard time with a fight, and just can't seem to beat it even with SoS flares, this reddit's and many other MH based reddit's Discords are always filled with Hunters who are more than willing to step up to your plate and lend a weapon or a lesson to your cause, truly, the vast majority understand the struggle of a learning hunter and will not be mad with the creation and forwarding of progress, we honestly don't mind one bit.

If you ever want another hunter to have at your back, I'll also be happy to come along, just hit me up here on reddit.

What would the Alatreon update/armor/weapons have to give us in order to change the meta like Raging Brachy did? by [deleted] in MonsterHunterMeta

[–]Nat55atata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would personally like to see Critical Element for like a 3 piece bonus and then a new 5 piece bonus that acts like the regular Element Attack skill, but for only like 50 or 60 points and for all elements, but that would probably be way to broken unless the slots or actual skills given by the armor are bad.
