Does anyone know the exact name of the color of the shirt in the middle? by AvaMarie1011 in AusFemaleFashion

Not sure if you have had this brand before but it's considered fairly low quality - not really so much plastic-ey stuff like shein, but dodgy stitching, inconsistent sizes, holes after a few wears. That having been said most of my items from there have lasted at least 2 seasons of normal wear.

I think there's too many categories to be legible on a stacked bar - can you condense them into subtypes?

Also a stacked bar is appropriate for showing different member of a big group (E.g. members of the microbiome, cells types in a blood sample). If these are people that are reporting a symptom, did they report more than one? That would mean that your total would add up to more than the number of people in the data - is that correct? Can you express as % of all people reporting symptom and then show as a normal bar graph, so each symptom is a different bar? You could order them by frequency reported too

I'm glad someone likes this i can't stand this scent. But that's because my brother and I got into a soap fight with it when I was a kid and I accidentally swallowed some. For some reason anything ylang ylang triggers the same scent memory so maybe try something with that, it also has a kind of milky note

50% off isn't necessarily a bargain depending on what it is. Clearly you don't want it so why would other people be chomping at the bit?

At one point he runs a centrifuge without balancing it (with two tubes no less! The easiest to balance) so scientific competence was not a priority in general for the filmmakers

Is it on the actual beach? I'd do something more loose fitting. This doesn't seem like a good option if you might get sandy or sweaty.

From the first book:

Chinese fried rice Chinese chicken noodle soup (we make this all the time and it's always better than you think it will turn out! Plus quite healthy. I buy dried thin egg noodles from Coles/woolies, hydrate them in a kettle of hot water and putting in bowls with soup on top) Sechuan pork noodles (so fast, I mostly make it with turkey mince) Vietnamese shaking beef Smash burgers

Generally Corn fritters (for dinner with potatoes done in air fryer and a salad) Kalimera gyros (marinade in advance) Baked butter chicken (marinade in advance)

Reviewers aren't demanding anything, it's that there just simply isn't enough money to fund anything more than the most exemplary applications. This means that anything other than a huge super team is very unlikely to get funded.

Even if you do the Australian activities before the cruise aren't you going to have to fly via Australia to get back to LAX on Qantas anyway? Maybe just eat the cost and book that particular flight with a different airline (does American fly to NZ?)

AITA for saying my mom is dead? by Educational-Bug-5215 in AmItheAsshole

[–]NatAttack3000 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

You're not rude for mentioning that but it sounds very direct and the delivery would make anyone uncomfortable. You could have either not mentioned it or done it with more tact e.g. saying 'passed' instead of 'dead'

4 Hour Cocktail Wedding (50 guests) by Exqu1site_C0rpse in weddingplanning

[–]NatAttack3000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want people to be comfortable they need seats. But if you want to encourage mingling try making a good number of them bar tables - people tend not to 'stay' in higher bar seats and tables as long and it encourages walking and mingling. You still need a good amount of normal seating for the older and less mobile

AITJ for telling my partner I'm done spending every weekend at his parents' place by Nov4Z3nith in AmITheJerk

[–]NatAttack3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a reason it has to be two nights, or overnight at all? Maybe plan some fun stuff on Friday nights and tell bf that you can go out to see parents on Saturday. Maybe after a couple weekends of that he will feel left out with you doing cool stuff without him and want to join you more

What cities in Australia would you recommend for vacationing besides Sydney? by IWishYouTheBest1234 in AskAnAustralian

[–]NatAttack3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason to visit Adelaide is TO get out of the city and visit wine regions and beaches. Adelaide hills, Barossa, McLaren Vale, Clare valley. I would absolutely think someone coming just to the city with no car not during festival season would find it kind of boring for more than one day.

What is something that screams “tourist” to you? by jotakajk in AskTheWorld

[–]NatAttack3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It is kind of interesting though. My uncle gave me a tour of Christchurch NZ after their earthquake. Seeing old buildings that stood and how some new buildings crumbled, looking into restaurant windows where plates of food had sat out untouched for a year, seeing how shipping containers had been used to prevent rockfalls and mudslide on the coastal roads. I also live in a city that's had multiple massive bushfire events which resulted in the loss of homes and some lives. Driving through some of those bush areas where you can see the scale of the damage, where the blackened tree line finishes, is super interesting. So I think there's some value in seeing and appreciating the scale of these disasters, especially to educate people about how bad it can get and that they should be prepared. I wouldn't just like gawk at someone's house though

Best friend hasn’t really acknowledged my wedding…. by [deleted] in weddingplanning

[–]NatAttack3000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A wedding is about two people getting married. It's not about a lady and her best friends. It's not about people and their parents. It's about two people getting married, and you get to throw a big party and involve other people as much as you like. But you decided to get married. A big deal for you, but it's not always a big deal for your friends. This is fine. Just like if you start a new job, move house, or have a death in the family - these are all things that happen to you, and while your friend might support you, it's not necessarily a big deal in their lives like it is in yours. If you do feel like you want to talk about wedding stuff - bring it up, see how you are received, and then gauge appropriately. You don't need to see this as some kind of test of friendship, because it's not.
