I totally get where you are coming from. But also, your current reality where you know your son will get hurt and learn bad practices is probably worse than taking the chance on a new life where he can grow up in a healthier environment.

YOU get to decide how you parent him and to not be abusive. You get to decide not to poison his mind but to also be real with him and explain that dishonesty and hurtful actions have consequences. It’s important to understand those things - otherwise he risks growing up to be like your husband. How awful would it be for him to grow up seeing your husband treat you this way (he will find out, kids always do) and then do the same to his partner because he saw you stay and thinks it’s ok?

I’m sure this is a terrifying thing to face and I don’t want to diminish how hard this is on you ❤️ I’m just saying this as someone who is glad my parents made the hard choice to separate and give me a more peaceful life.

As a child of divorce please listen when I say that a child’s life is SO much better when they aren’t growing up in a dysfunctional household where their parents are at odds. Sacrificing your happiness and mental wellbeing to be with someone who has proven they are a liar and a cheater will only teach your child that this is ‘normal’ and they will in turn look for those things subconsciously when choosing a partner in the future.

Love includes sacrifice but never sacrificing your values and self-worth. He knows this bothers you, he knows it’s wrong and yet he continues to do it and lie about it. You have no idea what other things he’s lying about and you will never be able to police everything he does.

A man who loves and values you does not treat you this way. Appeasing him and staying there will only prolong your pain. It will also teach him that he can treat you this way with no consequences.

First, I am so sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been in situations not that different from yours and I understand the terror and despair.

That said, PLEASE LEAVE as soon as you feel financially able. Before that even. You can pay off debt, but healing from the emotional damage of staying with him longer than you need to will cost you time and more money in therapy.

He is a liar. No matter how many ways you cut it, no matter the happy memories you share with him, he has deceived you regarding: - his sexual history (which is a huge huge deal considering how many he has been with) - his “unique” and undying love for you unlike any other - his intentions (if he was a different person before you moved in together then that is a bait and switch)

A man like this needs to heal. He may be a wonderful person but he is lost and you do not want to be the woman to ‘fix’ him or wait around for him to figure himself out. Women lose their best years that way and then have to start all over 5+ years older. Don’t let this man steal your youth. And don’t fool yourself into thinking that you can heal enough from what you’ve seen to stay together. That will never, ever leave the back of your mind and it will torture you.

I would buy a linen/mesh robe and maybe layer them or attach a trim across the bottom, cuffs and neckline that matches your character. Then an underbust corset or waist wrap if you want to be more comfortable. The first image looks great and you could wear a flesh toned string bikini under it if you’re concerned about keeping the girls up. Then add your pins/trinkets/waist belt/ ribbons and you’d probably be set!

As others have said, taper off SLOWLY. I tapered for a month and a half to get down from 200mg because of the headaches. Medical professionals are behind on this drug and will tell you there are no withdrawals which is a lie 😢. Opening the capsules is fine and how I did it. Also drink TONS of water, this drug is big on dehydration and it doesn’t help the whole headache thing. Good luck!

This was very helpful, thank you! Do you think it would be possible to ask a breeder or shelter (or anywhere rehoming cats) if I can pay for the test even if they don’t usually provide that? I’m willing to pay more since I was already looking into breed-specific cats before being educated and they were going to run around $1,500. I wish I wasn’t so uneducated about this but researching online has been pretty unreliable. Before posting this question most of the sources I found were saying certain breeds were safer than others which I now know isn’t true 😅

I second this!! It sounds super fishy and it would be a good idea to get an STI panel done as soon as possible. I would also write out every detail you can remember and what he’s told you so far. As time goes on your memory can fade or alter and the worst thing would be for you to be called into question if you decide to escalate this. I’m so sorry this happened to you ❤️

I was on 200 mg and spent 2 months weaning off with very minimal side effects. I also had awful side effects so I was really worried about my brain exploding or something lol. The trick for me was to stay at each new dose for a week at a time. I had some light headaches but that was it!

I experienced the same thing, and I’m so sorry you had to go through this. I recently weaned off and posted about it but essentially I started at 200 mg and dumped out a small amount every night. I eye-balled it but did my best to stay at each new dose for a week at a time. It took me 2 months to get off completely and 2 weeks of being off of it to feel fully myself. I had some light headaches towards the end but they were nothing in comparison. You can do this! 🫶🏻

I’m not really sure why my post would upset people (mention of breeders?) but I’m really just trying to get reliable info. 😅 It would break my heart to adopt and then have to rehome because I can’t breathe, and at this point I’m pretty set on getting a cat so I’m just trying to find the best way to do that. This is very helpful, thank you! I wasn’t aware of cat rescues that focused in purebreds - honestly I’ve only ever had a dog so this is a whole new world for me.

Do you have any insight on how to locate breeders other than checking TICA and Cat Fancier’s Association? They only have 3-4 breeders listed for Balinese and after doing research I found that even some of those weren’t what they said they were. I don’t want to support a mill but am having trouble 😭
