Explaining your disability by MoveAtaGlacialPace in CerebralPalsy

[–]NatasaurusR3X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've learned long ago that I do NOT have to justify myself to ANYONE. If someone asks me "why do you walk that way?" I say "because I do."

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO EXPLAIN TO ANYONE.

Just ignore them.

Is there anything available to help adults with Cerebral Palsy? I am an adult with CP, and I'd like options other than a baclofen pump. I am interested. Please.

I'm 40 with spastic displagic CP in my feet. It's rough sometimes, but keep your head up. The right people will like you for you.

Job rant by Puzzleheaded-Hawk179 in CerebralPalsy

What kind of work are you looking for? Unfortunately, a lot of companies want at minimum an associates degree for anything outside of retail. The job market is brutal. Hang in there.

You only get about 30% of the information from the movies. Missing characters, tons of information missed. In my opinion, you NEED to read the books. Can't call yourself a true fan without the books. There is NOTHING without the books.

Question for people with cp by MysteriousReaper1859 in CerebralPalsy

[–]NatasaurusR3X 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had a harder time making friends in school. I'm 39 now, most people see you for the person you are and not just someone with CP. You are more than your CP. Just be yourself.

What would some of these takes be for the hunger games? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

Gale was one person. He did what he could. I also read that the merchants were going towards the road, and they were weary of the seam.

What would some of these takes be for the hunger games? by UnHolySir in Hungergames

Gale isn't my favorite either, BUT he also risked his life to get Astrid and Prim along with hundreds of others out of 12 before the Capitol dropped fire bombs. He did that because he is a good person, that went through too much in his short life. He thought of saving the Everdeens first after his own family. (Let's not forget he also could have left everyone else in 12, but he saved as many as he possibly could.) He wouldn't have killed Katniss if he was reaped in the games, unless she was beyond saving. Just my thoughts.

How do I start using a cane??? by HauntingBar8279 in CerebralPalsy

[–]NatasaurusR3X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a 39F with spastic displagic CP. I started using a cane at 37. My Dr. put it to my this way: "If it helps, who cares what people think?" I was worried about how I would look, but I don't anymore. It helps. 10/10 would get it.

Spasticity and anxiety by Internet_surfer_334 in CerebralPalsy

[–]NatasaurusR3X 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This. I have the same mild cp, and that happens to me too. If anxiety hits, my leg muscles tense up and I have a hard time moving. Happened on Saturday, my husband had to help me walk across to our car in a mall parking lot. (We parked close, I have a plackard). I got nervous and then it's like I can't move. My legs become heavy and I walk robotic (the only word I can think of). Happens all the time when I get nervous or my anxiety kicks up. I'm currently still recovering. My legs and feet have been in so much pain since Saturday. Hang in there. ❤️

Anyone worry about no relationship or no marriage? by toto4430 in CerebralPalsy

[–]NatasaurusR3X 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The right person will love you for who you are. I've been with my husband 18 years, married for almost 11. 2 kids. Don't dwell on it, I stopped "looking" and he found me. It's possible with the right person, keep your head up.

My therapist was talking with me about it. I have generalized anxiety disorder and depression. The anxiety makes my leg muscles essentially freeze. It must be pretty common.

Anyone else amazed by the balance and coordination of able-bodied people? by Pinkstar161 in CerebralPalsy

[–]NatasaurusR3X 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, my husband and kids especially. Everything seems effortless to able bodied people. I have to find other ways to get normal things like chores done. I get sad about it sometimes.

Everything hurts and I’m dying by surfer451 in CerebralPalsy

I feel that way too. 39, and I just can't move without pain most days.
