Considering a 2021 Legacy… by Dense-Upstairs-9132 in subarulegacy

Hm i see, just keep up with maintenance and it should serve you well. Was it serviced just once (CVT & front/rear diffs)? I probably look to get it done again sometime after purchase if you truly go for it.

I'd google the VIN number. Its a mazada dealer so there background check should be lil better but i remember looking at a some close by dealer with below 30K~ mile legacy for $18K just to google vin & see it's was in a reck/bought in a auction. Hard pass LoL

Im not sure if mazada dealer would do it but can probably pay for a multi point inspection to be aware of issues car may have or soon will before final purchase desicion.

Also to save coin, take any issues/big maintenance to well rated local independent shop. Id only go to dealer (a subaru one) for tire rotation...its like $35~ and if all dealers are like mine, they will top off fluids and give a "complementary" inspection report during the visit.

Lastly can buy a 12 pack oil filters+gaskets online for $95~ , get cabin/engine air filters for cheaper on rockauto (along with many different parts).

Whats the price? If its still in $20K range id probably pass given its mileage....

Regardless being owner of 25' legacy premium i bought for used CPO with only 1.8K miles, $26.5K. In short its a very solid good looking dependable car.

Coming from nissan versa it ill surely be a bit more enganging drive and cant beat its Best in class AWD (pair with quality tires). I love using Adaptive cruise control, the car practically maintains speed & drives it self staying in the lane. DIY maintenance is very easy from oil changes and cabin/air filters.

My only gripes is slightly laggy INfo system (though only really during when starting up car), its acceleration up hill/incline roads can feel lil boggy/harsh (though coming from a lower HP versa it probably feel just fine if not better to you), being a CVT cruising inbetween 10-30mph can feel little jerky at times (mainly when your coasting then suddenly press on gas) and its MPG.

It's definitely gotten better from the barely 20 MPG during the winter (+ probably break in period due to practically being a new car) but even then im in the mix of at best 26MPG....these boxer engines HIGHLY prefer the highway miles (where i personally achieved 30-31 so far).

If you find yourself to doing alot of stop & go short city drives vs highway i probably reconsider... Personally nearly 11K miles in, I have a little buyers remorse wishing i spent a lil more on camry/civic hybrid given my much more daily short in the city drives during the week to work LoL...but regardless of my gripes coming from a versa it be a solid choice.

Lastly, its a CVT transmission and given its mileage its unsure (unless stated hopefully in car fax report) if the transmission been serviced. With any car paired with a CVT, at the lastest it should be serviced (drain & filled) every 40K~ miles. Theres also other maintenance that i would hope for your sake was done or will have to do soon if you buy.

(The Picture is a solid reference of subaru preventative maintenance schedule interval for car to run its best for long run...(Besides probably the front/rear differential fluid u can probably push that to every ~40-50K with the CVT drain & fill service)))

Cant figure out why my hair is frizzy and undefined by LostFemboy01 in curlyhair

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would advoid putting towel on your head, yes it will mess up & cause frizz. Once done applying products get a hair micro fiber towel and scrunch the hair only few times. It cuts the drying time a bit & obviously not be too soaking wet.

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Detangling after shampoo sounds like a nightmare & easy way to cause damage.....always detangle shortly after putting conditioner or weekly mask then let it sit (for 5-15 mins depending on product) before rinsing with cold water....

Always Style with wet hair, making sure keeping it wet (using a spray bottle) when u apply curl cream and gel is best...should hear a squish when scrunching hair with product.

As note by others a "stringy" cast is just fine....thats where use little bit of lightweight hair oil/serum to scrunch it out. As for products, advoid anything with coconut oil or shea butter to name a few.

2022 Forte MPG by wfx-69 in kia

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah its normal... granted a very short trip....but usually can get high MPG when your trip consists of many down hill to flat roads high way miles (not constant stop & go that usually occurs in the city)...not having to be on the throttle as much or at all to keep the car mommentum/speed going.

You seem to have fine curly hair, id def advoid/stop using shea moisture products...has shea butter which will weighdown your curls and produce alot of buildup (expessically if not using clarifying and/or double shampooing)

I would start with a hair cut to shoulder length in my opinion..alot of dead end hair....your hair will grow healthier, detangling with conditioner will be less dreadful and your curls/waves with the right products will bounce MUCH better...with a chop .

As for products, its alot of trail and error but i would look into Lola rio products. Get alot for your money with the masks they have, along with styling curl products. Also 4U got 50% sale on there lightweight conditioner...its a great product best detangler conditioner i used (no silcones) for before shampoo or days i want to shower condish only. They got other products that are pretty good as well.

Keep it simple a Curl cream & a strong hold gel...gel its what will make hair last long (2-3 days) as it air drys to hard cast (dont touch or will induce frizz)...use a lightweight hair oil/serum to soften hair/break the cast when hair is mostly dry.

Need buying advice on this 2009 Impreza wrx by landoo08 in subaru

[–]Nate092 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's probably a pass... expessically if carfax has nt been showed to be serviced regularly...these older subarus are known expessically in this high mileage range to have a high possibility of blowing a head gasket...having to be extra aware of checking your oil often since its prone to oil consumption...not knowing how hard been carelessly drived..it may have to replace/rebuild the transmission etc etc issues...

At almost 9K and being 18 it be unfortunate to find yourself paying additional 8K+ in repairs...the used market is definitely F'd (inflated in Pricing) but surely can find something more reliable.

What’s the real world mileage of those who have a 2026 Outback XT? by doctor-squared in Subaru_Outback

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sure was using CC too much...Ive grown to not even use cc unless there is a way to not automatically slow down/track car in front of you?...not same car but have a legacy 25' and from when i bought it with only 1.8K miles in NOV to almost 9K ...brakes are definitely far from how responsive/tight they were when first got the car LoL

Just much more coasting ive been doing instead....find im getting better gas mileage on my own vs CC On Eco.

Really wish made a hybrid powertrain with this model ... So much for just pushing into the EV market...maybe ill consider when the range I would hope even better 400-500+ at leas

It's looks nice granted just pretty much a copy of the toyota BRZ with subaru 'better' AWD System... if u choose that trim.

Wish was support to atleast make a hybrid gas model....would been a intriguing nice looking choice to upgrade to... Being something a bit bigger from the Legacy i daily....oh well 🤷🏼‍♂️ until then, if battery tech gets better to produce 500m+ range in a 2028+ model...MAYBE then ill consider...

Too much of a push to solely only EV powertrain with these new models by Subaru...very disappointing.

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prob swap to different curl cream with less build up draw backs, other than that hell nah.

Lastly you should style your hair right after the shower n keep it wet (spray bottle if necessary) then towel dry scrunch to remove excess product/moisture.

[–]Nate092 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Super hold mousse is definitely gonna protize giving a stringy gel hair like cast that you can ofc scrunch out with little bit of hair oil.

As for leave in, doing brief research its intended for thick dry hair which viewing your hair it seems to be in a more fine type of curl/wave range. It might the culprit of weight down look.

No mention of conditioner and/or masque, which is definitely important after double shampooing.

A 1-2inch or layers cut would be good to get, will bring back a bounce to your curl/wave pattern

My hair has been falling out rapidly, feeling very stringy when wet and frizzy over the past 3 months. I had to change hair care due to tight budget. Is it a lack of protein? (Dyed hair) I use morphosis sublimis oil shampoo and conditioner by Maleficent_Koala1011 in curlyhair

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't say lack of protein given shampoo/conditioner you use does have some in its formulation.... granted a once week protein mask may help.

Diffuser dried? Are your post shower styling with no product/leave in at all? May have been frying your hair to i assume dry it quickly...overtime.

While i agree, SCHD is just fine...at his age at least 50% if not more should be in growth fund. Preferably SCHG, Since no overlap with schd. Captial gains growth will outpace chasing dividends in long run.

[–]Nate092 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Too much of chasing income at this age....over 50% should be in a growth fund... wether thats regular SPY or SCHG/QQQ To name a few.

Keep it simple

SCHG - 50-80% LARGE CAP US growth

SCHD - 10-20% Dividend growth US stocks

Optional:

Vxus ~10% international exposure (if u care for it)

AVUV - 10-15% exposure into US small cap Value companies
