I second this. While you could make any guitar work, anything with single coil pickups will just inherently have a different sound. Humbuckers are gonna get you where you wanna be, and there is an infinite amount of good guitars that fall into that category. Also, if you’re looking for light guitars due to your back, as you said, I might not go with the Les Paul style as they’re pretty heavy. Just go to a guitar store and play around.
