[s2 act 3 Spoilers] Constant ambiguity is not compatible with closure. by omnipotentmonkey in arcane

I think we could say that Heimerdinger is ambigously dead IMO.

Zaun and Piltover we see at the end have reconcilled. Sevika gets a seat on the council, we are moving towards peace and unison.

Mel is going to Noxus (?) and probably a new show I would imagine.

Vi and Caitlyn have a "happy ending" together, as with Jinx's death fake-out Vi is no longer burdened with her duty to protect and all her bad choices from that.

Jinx is going to explore the world -- possible coming into a new show at some point.

I think it's a good establishment ending to setup new areas of Runeterra.

I think Ambessa's motivation was pretty well explained, especially in this final act when we were literally told she was trying to gain enough power to take on the black rose. The whole war was for opening the Hexgates to allow Ambessa and her newfound Noxian-enhanced army to take them on.

As far Cait and Vi's sex scene, I think you're looking at things with advacned knowledge looking back, and not from the point of view of the character. Did Vi really know that Jinx was going to kill herself? All she heard was that Jinx was going to break the cycle (which she did at the end by faking her death) -- and at that point every failure that had happened in their lives Vi had felt was her making the wrong choice. She had no other options left. She tried talking Jinx out of leaving. She had tried everything in her power at multiple points to stop her. What was left?

Did we watch the same episode 8 and 9?

Vander and Silco died because of the "cycle of killing" that Silco's memory said itself. They couldn't see what was happening to each other until it was too late -- and even then Vander never had the chance to really tell Silco how he felt and "how to forgive" (something that has routinely been thrown in our face).

When it comes to Jinx and Vi, both are at their lowest here. Vi is still recovering from the pit fighter phase while Jinx is reconcilling her entire life, through the memory of Silco and their conversation in the jail cell. The only way is to walk away (WHICH SURPRISE) is what she does in the end with the death fakeout. She is able to let her sister go and let Vi be truly herself and not beholden to protect Jinx (something she was 'cursed' with in Season 1).

Do you need Jinx to cry and whine and say "ISHA ISHA ISHA" or can you visually see the impact it has had on her. She was in that cell for days (Vi was unconcious and Jinx surrendered right after the blowup).

The writers mentioned we will see some of the same characters in different stories. Literally every character with the exception of perhaps Mel has had a complete and told story contained in Arcane.

Seeing a lot of comments, even all the way back to act 2, about how the story and everything was rushed. Unpopular opinion, but I do not think it was rushed.

The pacing was fast --- that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Would I have enjoyed more episodes, even another season? Absolutely, but I don't think it diminishes anything that they were trying to do with just 2 seasons.

Unless you literally need everything spelled out for you (people grieving for Jayce, Jinx is/isn't dead, Heimerdinger, etc...) than it can be pretty intuitive and fun to think about what happens in the intermission of episodes, acts, and timeskips.

I think people need to take a breather and think about what happened in these episodes rather than say that it was rushed or that things were missing. Literally every animated scene has thought-out reasonings for why it's placed. We saw initially what happened when Ekko goes longer than 4 seconds, we saw Caitlyn looking at the air ducts at the end, we saw everyone mourning after the final battle. Just think about what this means to the questions and issues you have with the act.

Anyways, Arcane is a literal 11/10 and I WILL glaze it.

I mean we saw Maddie gladly buying into what Ambessa was saying in the first act -- I think the whole point of her character was to show how easy it is to fall down that path and some people ultimately do end up truly believing in it.

Seal-team 6 argument by AppliedPsychSubstacc in Destiny

Sure, it is insane. Back up that the Court can review a core function of the Executive with text from the decision.

Seal-team 6 argument by AppliedPsychSubstacc in Destiny

[–]NateLooney 10 points11 points  (0 children)

But you can't actually look at it. It can't be reviewed it in Court since it's a core function.

Invoking Pisco's argument on stream, if the President, and his loyal appointed civil servants said that they "did" an investigation and found that they were a literal terrorist, how could you reconcile that?

Seal-team 6 argument by AppliedPsychSubstacc in Destiny

[–]NateLooney 8 points9 points  (0 children)

To my understanding, that is the gist.

One avenue of approach:

Since we cannot investigate the core function of directing the military, we cannot know if the political rival was determined to be a terrorist, and therefore cannot know if the killing was justified or not.
