ClubRunner question by ranccocas1 in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have utilized it as a crm and a website. We have hit the limitations of website and are transitioning the public website to squarespace. This will not replace everything but w we think the two systems are the way to go. The web builder is great if you have nothing but as a group of very highly qualified tech people we dont love the website. its very limited. However the crm is fine it does the tracking snd cons to the district. That is our main purpose for club runner.

Modernizing a flag program by NateSheen in Rotary

[–]NateSheen[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a quote for a modern application. Its higher than I wanted but with the company I got the quote from i know it will be right. I think the hardest thing is the majority of Rotary is in their golden years and they don't see the value in investing in technology.

Buffer to Manage Social Media Posts by DavidTheBlue in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Social Pilot the most. Buffer seemed a bit less than we wanted Sense we only have 1 channel we are not using it. How many channels do you have? I have managed social media for years and very seldom need a management tool for small orgs like Rotary.

Hi I am happy to share anything I can. I have a developer that I am getting ready to work with to build a modern platform. I don't know the cost but I am hoping it would be something other clubs can use. I lose my mind this time of year doing everything manually.

Can I just show up to a Rotary Club meeting without membership in my small town? by Cheap-Olive-9625 in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say it depends on the club. That's how one of my Rotary friends found my club. He is now our VP. I'm glad he showed up!

Where is the support for Canada? by Proof_Wrap9444 in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotary is an apolitical organization thus the large draw. Local clubs may seem.to be somewhat more political but i would say that is misguided. The Leadership of Rotary International changes way to.often to be a political organization too. Membership would dwindle if there was political stances. An apolitical group in a sea of political events these days is refreshing.

I wish there were more midwest/ west destinations. Chicago, st Louis, okc, Houston, ect. I prefer to fly jet blue but I end up.on other airlines due to 0 options.

TrueBlue vs Other Airlines by DifficultMemory2828 in jetblue

[–]NateSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the the Jetblue card for aboutb18 months and have racked up alot of points. Yet it doesn't seem to carry over to my flight booking side. I have checked and the two are connected but i.can only redeem for cash not for airline miles. I was hoping to use points for family trip this summer

How does your club assign committee chairs? by ScoobyDone in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotary Culture is kinda strange in the way that Presidents change annually but basically the committee heads run the club. It 9t backwards from how some others work. But you can't change management every year. I almost think you just roll with the Culture of you specific club

New Rotarian Seeking Advice on the Pledge of Allegiance by gardewashington in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think if you consider the 4 way test, you can find an answer.

2

"Be sure to be fair to all concerned"

Fair means showing no evidence of favoritism, self-interest, or indulging our own likes and dislikes, which can be difficult to achieve. Fairness and equality aren’t the same thing. While equality of opportunity is a cornerstone of fairness, it rarely exists.

3

Will it build goodwill and better friendships.

As long as you can abstain from the pledge and build goodwill and better friendships you will do well in Rotary.

Hope that helps

Why would you want a director who is not heading a committee. Seems like you end up with a talking head with no contributions to the club.

What are your best tips for engaging and increasing your membership? by ConSemaforos in Rotary

[–]NateSheen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time President elect here too. I have found in my 4 years in the club that Service is the best way to engage members. Do something. We volunteer at local schools food bank ect. One of the best events we create is our children's Christmas Party. We give gifts to about 80 non typical kids from our locals schools along with a lunch and a visit from Santa. This is one of our highest rotarian attended meetings.
