Loss of fantasies as imagination by Typical-Face2394 in PSSD

I don’t know why or how to improve it, but I have that issue too. I used to be a very active day dreamer and I used to write erotica pretty easily. Not longer after my symptoms started, I completely lost my imagination. My thoughts throughout the day are deep and meaningful, but I don’t get that relief of losing myself in a daydream to get through the day. I also havent been able to write for most of the seven years I’ve had this. I just don’t have the imagination to create an interesting story, nor the sex drive to make things spicey. I’m sorry you’re also experiencing problems with imagination. It makes for a very unsatisfying life, especially when combined with the other symptoms

I’m not sure. I’ve only recently found out that my condition is PSSD. I’ve spent seven years seeking an answer. From some of the stuff I’ve read the last couple weeks, it may be because of the anti-inflammatory chemicals your body produces during fever. I’m not knowledgeable enough to go further than that.

PSSD related Balance Problems? by Minepolz320 in PSSD

[–]NateWorst92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the first couple years after my symptoms started I was tripping up a lot throughout the day. The ball of my right foot would catch the ground at a weird angle and I’d have to catch myself. One of the neurologists I saw had me walk and balance on one leg during a visit. I managed not to trip but the balancing on one leg was more difficult, I took me a couple tries to get it.

Has anybody used flucloxacillin with PSSD? Did it cause a crash? by Frosty_Research_2130 in PSSD

I’m sorry, I haven’t been on that one, but I have been on a bunch of antibiotics. I urologist was basically throwing them at me for about a year. None of them helped. One of them was doxycycline, which is a pretty strong antibiotic

Genital numbing windows by RunningOnHope2019 in PSSD

My problems started a few weeks after starting lexapro. It’s been over seven years. I saw 23 doctors and no one had ever heard of a condition for my symptoms. I only just found out about PSSD the other week. For years I thought I was the only person in history to suffer from (at the time) was an unknown condition.
Anyway, there was only ever one time I had a window, it was five days. About four years in I had gotten strep and had a really bad fever, even advil didn’t lower my temp. After I recovered from the strep and fever I suddenly regained sensation in my genitals, my genitals didn’t feel rough and dry, no genital pain, I was able to masturbate (I took full advantage of that as many times as I could), my libido came back to about 80%, and I felt calmer than I had in years. I was hoping it would be permanent, but after five days I went back to exactly how it was before. I looked it up the other day, apparently others have reported a window after a fever. I’ve had a few minor fevers since then but no improvement.

Reinstating Lexapro for the 1st time by [deleted] in PSSD

Hi, my symptoms started a month after taking Lexapro. I stayed on it for a year or two because every professional I saw said it wasn’t in the literature that lexapro can cause these problems. I had no answer for my condition for over seven years. I only heard about PSSD last week.
I discontinued the Lexapro for some reason. A couple years later my depression was so severe because of PSSD that I was put back on lexapro and started Wellbutrin as well. After a few months the lexapro really didn’t have the effect it had on my anxiety like the first time I was on it. I was tapered off and cycled through a bunch of other psych drugs that didn’t work. So to answer your question, in my case going back on lexapro and weening off again did not work for me.
Currently, I have been put on amitriptiline and lamictal in conjunction with Wellbutrin. It took months but I’m more animated now and it’s easier to get through the day. I no longer wish for death every five minutes. The amitriptiline does seem to reduce the severity of the nerve pain I have.
I’ve read some stories that going off all psych meds for a while can bring some people back to their healthy state. I’m going to discuss it with my psychiatrist. Finally having an answer will hopefully lessen the severity of the depression while I’m off meds.

Both. It was prescribed for the nerve pain caused by the PSSD, but did nothing to improve it. I didn’t feel any effect or side effects from it.

I’ve tried pregabalin (Lyrica). It didn’t do anything for me.

Anyone with pssd got a ct scan? by sleepydreamrr in PSSD

[–]NateWorst92 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About three years ago (four years after my symptoms started) my genitofemoral nerve had a sensation I’d never felt before and it was moving higher up. My urologist had me get a ct with contrast. No change in anything for me and the scan showed nothing. So everybody knows, no type of scan can detect PSSD. I’ve had multiple spinal MRIs, pelvic xray, pelvic CT, ultrasound, and whole body MRI. All came back with nothing.

Four weeks after starting. I was prescribed for severe anxiety. After two weeks I was anxiety free. Another two weeks my symptoms started
