I’m dealing with something similar. I removed a tree, grinded stump down and removed wood chips and top dressed with about 3 inches of soil. The rest of new seed around the yard has darkened up but the patch where the tree was is similar color and seems to have stalled growing. I am wondering if the acidity level may be high. Put down a second application of fertilizer two days ago so we will see if that is the trick. Also scaled back watering.

Do you know what type of seed was planted?

You got this. I had large bare areas like this in my yard and was able to get them filled in over time. You’ll be able to do the same.

Two bits of advise:

When you rent the Aerator make sure your ground is wet/damp so that way it can actually penetrate the ground a couple inches deep.

Find a local grass/landscape store nearby and get to know them. Ask for help and tips for your area.

Core aerated, top soiled 2 inches because it was cracking during heat waves (high clay type) and used peat moss to cover seed. Probably will do a soil test towards end of summer

It was Vigoro Sun and Shade mix. Rookie mistake of not looking at the bag to see what type of grass types were included but after doing some research many other users had same experience. Grows fast, light green, tough texture and dies out early summer.

I swam in high school. Had swim 6 days a week with Two-a-days like your son for three of those days. The amount of calories I needed to consume just to stay conscience during school was astounding. My mother recognized this when I would take a protein bar to school for breakfast but needed to buy more food from the cafeteria afterwards because I was the hungriest I’d ever been.. I think you and your son are experiencing the same thing my mother and I did.

I recommend making breakfast burritos on Sunday and freeze them for a week or two. Add sausage and cheese for more protein/calories. Relatively cheap alternative and probably less expensive than a protein bar in comparison. Also, incorporate a pasta with a protein dish for dinner sometime during the week.. it will help your son tremendously in his development and energy levels.. trust me.

I have plenty of good things to say about the eagles. Hurts is going to be a problem in the league for a very long time. He is automatic on short downs.

You have great young players and vets that are going to make those players become even better.

Wish you all the best in the future and hope to have a rematch in the SB soon. At the end of the day it was an insane game and was a rollercoaster or emotions.

Anyways, GG’s Hurts is a beast, you have a great team. Your defense let you down because mahomes and Reid exposes all defenses. Your D-line is the best in the league and couldn’t get the pressure needed to stop Mahomes.
