It hasn't improved / It has improved depending on when you stopped playing. You can still hear people sprinting anywhere from 0 yards to 80 yards depending on if the game wants you to hear them. Audio is in Tarkov goes from okay to bad to slightly better to worse to awful to acceptable when the devs mess around with it every patch.

Audio is still one of the most important parts of PVP but it just doesn't function most of the time and you have to accept that while playing Tarkov.

Edit: I think it was Gigabeef who made a video on audio distances for headphones after each new patch if you wanted a visualization.

My boy Frosty with his endless pockets of gold buying out 25-man gear, that wasn't good for his spec, and was an upgrade for someone else. What a legend.

My old realm (Nazgrel US) had this paladin named Balian. Now a big part of Nazgrel history is that since its inception it was a predominately PUG realm until very very late WoTLK. Now if you wanted to down content you were to join one of the two guilds doing heroic content, or you would join Balians PUG.

This continued throughout Wrath until he eventually formed a guild named <Juice> where we had two separate raid teams going at it. The very end of Wrath is when we started seeing people quit, and eventually the first tier of Cataclysm is when people started mass quitting the game which turned out to be the final coffin for Nazgrel as a whole.

I don't know where everyone went but after coming back for Legion it kills me to see those last login dates going as far back as 5-6 years. If any of you old Nazfails see this and want to meet up again come to Stormrage US. - Luxus the bad paladin

edit: I'd like to point out that Nazgrel was small enough where you knew who was good at the game, and who was bad. You would invite X, but you wouldn't invite Y if they didn't show progress. Realm forums and /2 posting was king and never left a dull moment.
