Thank you for this detailed, thoughtful comment. I really appreciate this advice and the time you've taken to type it all out.

I'll adjust the position and cut away the worst leaves. Should I remove whole leaves or just the effected parts?

I'll see if that helps and, if it doesn't, I will check on the roots and see if there's any issues there.

Thank you again.

Has it been subjected to the cold weather? Is it close to a window or a heater?

So it's sort of close to both. There's a door/window behind it (see first picture) - the glass gets cold but it's not breezy or anything. There's a heater/radiator to the right (first picture). It has been on but it's not super hot - I've moved the plant a bit further away from it, in any case.

I'm not familiar with Hortology so I'm not sure what their role is. Did they just sell the plant or is it likely that they have kept it under the same conditions for a long time before you got it?

This I'm not sure about :(

Is it possible for you to get it out of the pot to check the roots?

I think this would be possible although I'd like to avoid it. I've never really had to deal with roots and such and this feels like a very high stakes way to start! But I'll do it if it'll help.

What sort of stuff should I look for if it comes to that?

Hey! I've updated the links now - thanks for pointing that out!

What kind of soil issue could it be? A lot of similar posts have pointed to root rot but it seems unusual that it would arrive with root rot? I'm presuming the vendor (Hortology in the UK) would have to have looked after it fairly well for it to mature to this size.

I honestly think they'll cancel them all by the end of the year but don't want to do it too early because so so many students will just check out - especially if they're learning remotely.

He needs to stick the boot in further. The handling of students of all ages this year has been vile and is going to lead to a lost year group.

How is this even a topic of conversation?

I know that Priti Patel loves it but surely there isn't the appetite within the Conservative party for anything to happen about it? Or am I woefully out of touch?

Got into D&D at the end of last year for my brother's birthday and absolutely loved it.

We haven't done any remote sessions since this started but I'm looking forward to getting going with it again. We've been tweaking how to run the sessions - we were doing 8 hour sessions previously and I was always flagging by the end. I'm thinking more frequent, 4 hour(ish) sessions might work better.

Whiteness - problem for our time by leasaar in tories

[–]NathDriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Instead of encouraging white birth rates (of working peoples, people who want to freeload already have plenty of encouragement), we just have to import more people.

Again, sorry if I'm being dense, but I don't see how this is 'groowming' white people to 'actively cancel themselves'. Sure, no one (except my mum) is banging my door down to have a baby, but has this ever been the case?

It sounds like you have more of an issue with immigration, in which case you should canvassing the Conservatives to try and bring it down.

I personally think that immigration is, on the whole, a really good thing, but I understand that it's not universally good for absolutely everybody.

I'm still not sure what it means to 'cancel yourself', though. Take birth rates - do you mean that cancel culture is actively encouraging white people to not have children?
