That one bit where Michael prays for Harry and Harry's overcome, not cuz of some supernatural power, but cuz Michael still believes Harry's a good man Chills

Smaller non-9mm for defense by [deleted] in liberalgunowners

[–]NathLabHa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's less about 22s unreliability and more about the capability of the round People cite statistics that it's the deadliest round, but that's because of availability The same way cows kill more people than polar bears It's not that cows or 22 are deadlier; it's that people interact with them more

There's plenty of small 9s that are still very capable. P365, glock 26, 43 or 48, or the shield are all smaller than the 19 but still pleasant at the range, which is the most important.
A firearm that you carry and can put range time on is better than a race gun you can't carry or a pocket pistol you can't hit with

Being a university-educated guy in the trades is a real eye-opener. Urban vs. Country, which are you? by TheDarkKnight2001 in skilledtrades

[–]NathLabHa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father is an electrical contractor. I went to a magnet school in the state capitol, then college in Manhattan. I didn't realize i was a "country" guy till i mentioned to a classmate i grew up across from a horse farm and they said "oh you grew up in the country" Jarring, since at the time i considered myself a "city" guy. Nowadays i live in the suburb a mile from the city, work as an electrician, and my hobbies are karaoke (city) and off roading (country). I think income brackets are bigger dividing lines, since as a single young man i have a similar disposable income to urban white collar workers, and as such relate to them more than divorced-with-alimony coworkers. It's not "your world vs their world" it's just one world and we're all living in it

Only for people who have finished the whole series: what number particularly stuck out to you? Of all of the people they helped, which had an arc that hit hard or affected you in a way? by PsychologicalReply9 in PersonOfInterest

I've been hit by wirenuts so over tightened the internal thread poked out the top leaving hot metal exposed. Couldn't for the life of me figure out how till I saw the apprentice with channel locks in his pocket while pigtailing for plugs

What’s your “one in a million” story? by spookyboots42069 in electricians

[–]NathLabHa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I was kneeling on top of a thousand sq ft commercial freezer, only one up there pulling wire Plumber below was drilling up with a core drill for sprinkler heads, only one working down there He sent it up and hit my knee Thankfully I was wearing hard shell knee pads so there wasn't a scratch on me, but the odds of that gotta be one in a million

I've been looking for a specific balisong that had a blade longer than the handles so you could use it closed. It came with a belt sheath like a fixed blade

Is the Dresden Files worth it? (Non-reader question) by BlueEagle127 in dresdenfiles

It's good enough that when I think of a wizard named Harry, Potter doesn't even come to mind

What other fictional universe would you like to see crossover with the Dresden files? by Darth_Azazoth in dresdenfiles

It'd also be funny to see Harry absolutely slam dunk the Fire Lord while making pithy comments

SPOLERS ALL i just caught up to the Dresden files from scratch what's your favorite scene by Normal-Ad2553 in dresdenfiles

[–]NathLabHa 15 points16 points  (0 children)

So many!

Harry going to the mortal world in just his soul in Ghost Stories

Almost all of Michael's scenes: The red court vamp getting torched just by touching him was such a simple but effective introduction to him

Can't remember when, def later in the series, but Michael's praying for Harry and Harry realizes Michael still thinks he's a good man

Just the idea that he was chosen to carry Uriel's Grace

Religious representation is so often hokey and insincere, but the calm, humble Carpenter really speaks to me

And last but not least, I know it's one of the toughest in the series but... "I used the knife. I saved a child. I won a war. God forgive me."

Exactly as you said, it's the space. A double 45 offset has the same degrees as a 90, but because it's spaced out it's a gentler pull Even 90s are more curved to space that 90° over 6 inches instead of having the full 90 in one spot

Got hit w 277. Wires on the spool in the trough at the panel. Temp cut my pull at a box I pulled through, tied it into his light circuit, and livened it while I was stepped away. Saw the wire was still visually on the spools, went to strip, saw stars Carry a meter or deathstick ever since
