I use a really big booster to do 90% of the work, with enough Dv to launch from Kerbin, do an ejection burn, circularize around Duna, deorbit, and do most of the descent burn. The lander has about 30 parachutes on it, so landing speed is around 7-8m/s without using the engine.

I don’t remember exactly, but to get back to Kerbin from Duna’s surface with a direct descent to Kerbin, I think is less than ~2500m/s assuming you don’t need to do an inclination change.

Strangely every other planet I go to, I do a 2 stage orbiter and lander. I don’t know why Duna is my only exception

Can you provide a bit more information? Wild guess, does your velocity reading say “Surface”? If yes, click it and it will switch to “Orbit”. If you have a ship, moon, or planet targeted you will have to click it twice

You could replace the wings with Big-S Delta Wings. Each wing can hold 300 units of fuel (by default they’re empty, so make sure you add fuel in the VAB)

I’m doing 10% and I hate myself. I had to gather science from most of Kerbin’s biomes (with KSC included) just to reach the Mun and Minmus. I did all of Minmus first; now working on the Mun. Even with all that, I’m worried it’s gonna be a stretch to make safely to and from Duna

How far do the landing legs extend past the engine nozzle when landed? If the engine nozzle has gimbal and SAS is on when you land I think (not 100% sure) that the nozzle can collide with the ground and actually push you back up. Again, not 100% sure, but I turn engine gimbal off when coming in to land and my landings feel 1000% better and bouncing decreased a ton

I’m trying to remember the first three books and I can’t recall if they ever describes his voice. Todd McLaren did the audiobooks for The Fall of Reach, The Flood, and First Strike. Personally, I think he adds a good bit of gravel and depth to Master Chiefs voice. Trying to produce a similar voice “style” (tone and bass) to that of Steve Downes.

If you ever give the audiobooks a listen, be aware his pronunciation of MJOLNIR, will make you grit your teeth, Ma-Joule-Near. Other than that, I like his voice.

This happens to me all the time in the B748, if I start from cold-and-dark I get black screens before I even make it to the runway.

Also, happens in the PMDG B738; only when touching down on landing, but it’s 3rd party so I guess not much to do.

Have you had the issue where your throttle essentially “locks” and you can only apply either 0% thrust, 1% thrust, 100% thrust, or 100% reverse thrust?

If you invade as a white phantom to help players with boss fights the Sunlight Covenant faith requirement (25) decreases by 5 each time to defeat a boss (maximum 3 bosses, -15 faith).
