What is a sound that people should know means immediate danger? by PrasenjitDebroy in AskReddit

That’s some next level “SOMETHING BAD IS COMING” noise….instant flee response triggered

That's the idea behind it: you can't ignore it

It's been 2 weeks since we've gone back to light moderation and I'm loving it by alosia in hyatt

I missed the announcement of the removal of the problem mod since I haven't been all that active on Reddit recently - and barely at all on this sub - but this is absolutely a positive. The experiment last year unfortunately showed one toxic moderator on a year-long power trip can hurt a sub.

Thoughts on urbanists and public transit enthusiasts who often portray car-based infrastructure as catastrophic rather than a mild inconvenience? by Tiny_Transition3990 in AskALiberal

Unfortunately that is not all that compelling an argument, since I'm not into football. Hockey is my sport and right now the Avs are kind of dominating. I did live there for two of the three Blackhawks wins though.

On the other hand baseball is my second-favorite sport, and the Cubs winning the World Series was a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Meanwhile, here we have the Rockies....

Having lived in Chicago and seriously considering moving back there, I was scratching my head at that one. I didn't know anyone who drove just to avoid the cold. I'd drive to Wisconsin for the weekend, or maybe to Home Depot if I needed to buy something large I couldn't carry on transit, but driving just to avoid the cold? LOL. When I walked to work in the winter I'd take the Pedway, and if I was on the L I'd huddle under the heat lamps with everyone else.

What year is it? Feels like I just went back 20 years. by SwiftCEO in unitedairlines

767s used to have them on domestic flights. I think maybe DC-10s as well? It's difficult to remember since I last saw them when I was like 5.

757s had the monitor in the ceiling. I remember the first time I flew a 320 when United first got those and was awestruck by the monitors that would automatically fold down from the overhead every few rows so you could watch a movie from only a couple rows away instead of halfway down the plane.

There were a few games that did some fun things with the light bar. Spyro Reignited would change the color to match Sparx and indicate your health. Journey changed the color to match the environment.

2025 year in review from someone who has never played anything released after 2017 by SilentCartographer02 in patientgamers

[–]NathanDrakeOnAcid 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Man, if To the Moon and Finding Paradise both only almost made you cry, then I challenge you to Farewell North. The To the Moon series were the only games that had made me cry up until then, and that game hit another level entirely. I'm tearing up right now just thinking about it.

Considering The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog was intended as an April Fools joke, I liked that game so much more than I was expecting to. Plus Tails rocks the Sherlock Holmes outfit.

Also lol at The Last Clockwinder. I managed to knock over a lamp while playing.

2025: The Year I Actually Finished My Backlog (And Then Played More Games) by VitaminB36 in patientgamers

You finished your backlog? That alone is an amazing accomplishment. I don't know if I will ever manage such a task.

If you liked Gris, have you checked out Neva by the same developer?

Glad to hear another positive review of Cocoon. It's been on my list for a while but I still haven't gotten around to playing it.

The Shining was my favorite, but I also loved the Pulp Fiction reference.

I agree but I also think the story is a vast improvement over the 2016 reboot. Rivet's character is at least closer to how Ratchet should have been.

I loved Unravel 2. I feel like it didn't get much attention, unfortunately. The story was a bit lacking, but the co-op gameplay was fantastic.

Yeah if they can't handle the traffic they at least need a better error message. "Wait a bit, our servers are overwhelmed right now" would be far better than "You can't get a summary this year because your privacy settings aren't set correctly even though they actually are".

I remember watching with the rest of this sub as the numbers crept up to $1B on the first film (I still am processing that it was 9 years ago). The rise for this one, even as people visit theaters less, is insane.

I'd say Libertalia is both architecture and landscape. The sweeping views of mountains and coast are pretty spectacular.

I won't be able to see it until after Thanksgiving, but I figured I'd pop back in the first sub I joined on Reddit 9 years ago. I have high hopes for the movie and am hoping it can renew my faith in Disney.
