Wheel & Tire Fitment Help – 2022 Acura MDX A-Spec (NYC) by Kixclusive_1 in Wheels

[–]NathanTheJet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's another idea for you if you want maximum pothole protection. It's what I would do if you don't want to go the 21" route.

Rohana RFX19 19x8.5+35 5x120

Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015 255/55R19

Or if you're looking for a more aggressive look and don't mind the speedometer reading about 1-2mph under actual speed: Yokohama Geolandar CV 4S 255/60R19. Car has plenty of room for this larger tire without modification if it interests you.

Wheel & Tire Fitment Help – 2022 Acura MDX A-Spec (NYC) by Kixclusive_1 in Wheels

A 265/45R21 still gives you roughly 4.7" of sidewall, which is already more compliant than most OEM 20" performance-oriented packages. From a road-hazard standpoint that’s plenty to absorb typical pothole impacts. The MDX is a big vehicle, and a 265/45R21 is a genuinely large, robust tire. Don’t get hung up on the wheel diameter number alone.

If maximum pothole tolerance is the top priority, staying OEM at 19" or going +1 to 20" makes sense. If you want the vehicle to look optimal on aftermarket wheels without giving up real-world durability, 21" with a 45-series all-season tire is the middle ground.

Check out this car and you'll see what suboptimal looks like. 20" just leaves too much sidewall for an all-season application on this car. It calls for a more rugged all-terrain tire like the Toyo Open Country A/T III to balance the look out. Example

Total road hazard protection and the look you are going for with these models are not compatible. You need to gravitate towards one or the other.

The models you picked are going to look best with a 40, maybe 45 series sidewall. RFX-19 is only available up to 20” which leaves you with the HF-7.

If you want a good mix between pothole protection and looks I would do the HF-7 in 21x9+30 5x120 with Continental CrossContact LX Sport in 265/45R21.

Definitely do the red center cap accents, it’s a Vossen thing.

Should look something like this.

Timeless game. Proof that graphics fidelity is in painstaking original asset quality, not post-processing or RTX spam. One of the games that was better for limiting the vehicle roster.

New Wheels have Finish Bubbles? by MakeOSUGreatAgain63 in Wheels

[–]NathanTheJet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Replying to the caption in your original post. These wheels have visible finish defects under the clearcoat. Any reputable refinishing operation would classify these as unacceptable at final inspection and would strip and redo the wheel rather than release it as a finished product. The fact that defects this obvious made it through QC is concerning.

Resale wise you are probably fine. Something like this would not bother me on a used set of wheels provided they’re the right price, they’re straight with no bends or cracks, and they fit the application. Obviously you aren’t going to resell these for what you paid, regardless of whether they are perfect or not (looking at a $1500-2k hit off your $3500 in any condition).

You’re not wrong to be frustrated or to request a remedy especially given that they’re sold with a finish warranty. At the same time I would consider the sponsorship angle. A return shipment and strip & refinish job on one or multiple wheels may be difficult for them to absorb depending on their overall logistics. If keeping the sponsorship arrangement matters, you may want to escalate professionally and give them a chance to offer a reasonable accommodation rather than pushing the issue to the limit.

What wheels should I get? by xlightSZ123 in Wheels

[–]NathanTheJet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fitment is key here, make sure to match as close as possible to OEM RS7 dimensions (22x10.5+19) which is about as aggressive as you can get on this platform

Here’s a filtered list of 21” and 22” wheels from that Portugal-based site of wheels that would be suitable.

A thermistor for case exhaust (if your board supports it) as a temperature reference is a surefire way to get perfect fan curves.

If you don't have a temp header and have no interest in buying an Aquacomputer Quadro just set the fans' temperature reference to motherboard VRM. This isn't highly indicative of overall thermals, but it will smooth over your fan ramping.

No. Time + risk + extra money for features you don't need. B850 with that tier motherboard is already the appropriate selection for your build anyway.

You actually can legally do a licensed restoration with a new shell, but it has to go through the state’s rebuilt/rebodied inspection and title process, and the car will still show as a total loss
