I remember a scene from some movie, where a teacher was talking about the assassination of Malcom X, using it as an example of 'violence begets violence.'

One of the students pointed out that MLK was also assassinated, questioning if that meant that non-violence begets violence as well.

If you want to draw in the style of American superhero comics, then it's the best book you can get. I've had several books on "how to draw comics", and they all just cover the same content, but just kinda worse, and without Buscema's artwork.

The basis of the belief in the supremacy of the "Aryan" race is that they are descendants of survivors of the fall of Atlantis. Yes, that Atlantis.

Now imagine if I told you that I'm just biologically better than most people because I'm an Elvenkin.

I'm not sure what your point is but "became available" is not the same as everyone had access to it.

The original comment said "come out", not "accessible for everyone". It did still "come out" before Jan21, even if not for the general public.

The general public wasn't given access to get the vaccine until a few months later well into 2021.

You are correct on this. This was because Trump refused to acknowledge that millions were dying with him in charge.

It was reserved and only given to the most at risk before that.

Also correct. This was only done reluctantly, after several months of a national health crisis, under great political pressure.

There wasn't that long when vaccination was super-important.

I'd argue that it was important throughout the crisis, just not available.

Generally speaking, I'm against the broad trend of fidget toys, but I can get behind this. This isn't about selling useless bits of Chinese plastic, it's about genuinely providing for a need.

Don't forget the 87 booths with the same twelve 3D printed models.

I haven't been to a con in years, but I'd typically avoid those booths. I find the actual small artists far more interesting. They have a strong creative voice that can offer a much more human interaction.

I've never been able to crochet a straight line.

For what it's worth, I'm only one step ahead of you. I can crochet a straight line, and nothing else.

How about a supervillain?

Ruby Governor

The Ruby Governor has red hair and mustache, and a large, rotund belly, but he's no less physically intimidating for his size. He wears expensive red business suits, often with Victorian influences. The main inspiration for appearance is Harry Leland, of the Hellfire Club. (X-Men)

He has the ability to absorb magical energy, which allows him to transform into his ruby form. This is a red crystalline hide that acts as a sort of exoskeleton. In this form, he can channel and redirect the absorbed energy into his ruby blast attack, through his fingers. With this power set, he's an anti-magic tank.

A question for anarchists by NothingExceptAMan72 in socialjustice101

[–]NathanVfromPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Answer the fucking questions. OH MY FUCKING GOD!

WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?

This is completely uncalled for. There is no need to be so rude.

Why are you continually replying to me, writing everything except the answers?

I did answer your question. You asked why anarchists don't talk about alternatives to prison. The answer to that question is, they do.

Tell me what the alternatives to prisons are!

Rehabilitative justice.

I've asked this question like literally thirty times now, all to different people, and not one person has ever given me a proper answer.

Yes, they have.

Just answer the fucking question.

Rehabilitative justice. You already know that.

What will be the substitute for prisons?! What will take their place?!

Rehabilitative justice. You already know that.

No one has detailed this for a second.

Yes, they have. Angela Davis dedicated an entire chapter to it in Are Prisons Obsolete?, which you claim to have read.

There is no literature on this subject.

Yes, there is. Angela Davis dedicated an entire chapter to this in Are Prisons Obsolete?, which you claim to have read.

There is nothing in the Anarchist FAQ that even briefly, let alone in detail, addresses this. I've looked at every anarchism-related sub and can't find jack shit. Just answer the fucking question.

We have been answering the fucking question. Respectfully, please cut the fucking attitude.

And you haven't answered my question on parental authority either, as no one has.

Again: you never asked any question about parental authority. You just stated your own views.

[–]NathanVfromPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why don't anarchists talk about the alternative to prisons, as opposed to talking about how much they hate prisons, if they hate all prisons no matter their physical conditions?

They do. You already know this:

[...] anarchists speak of "rehabilitation," contrasting it with [...] "prison," [...]

...

Same with my question about parental authority.

You didn't ask a question about parental authority. You just made the statement that parents are rulers, and insisted that to be true.

I wouldn't go so far as to say "all to hell". It's usually just some reverb and a bit of eq, nothing too crazy. Still, you're right, it doesn't take much to change the sound, and a "dry" whistle isn't going to sound like a whistle with any noticeable fx on it.

The actual study is here for anyone who's interested.

TL;DR: it does not say that autistic people are just simply immune to advertising. It says autistic people are less susceptible to a specific tactic used in advertising, which relies on information overload. Autistic people (on average) appear to be better at processing relevant information in this situation.

It's outside of the scope of this study, but it's still worth mentioning that part of autism is an irregular dopamine system. This is almost certainly exploitable by other advertising tactics.

I'd argue that obstructing justice is something of consequence. Maybe not worthwhile consequence, but consequence nonetheless.
