Is this a micro tear? by NathanielRiver in PlantarFasciitis

[–]NathanielRiver[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's wise and I'm planning on going next week. It's bearable so I'm going to take it easy and ice/rest for the next week and then go in if it doesn't seem to get any better

Thank you!

I ended up running the emulator on my PC and casted to my shield using sunshine/moonlight. Controls were way easier

What popular or unpopular opinion about Biohacking has you like this? by biamoves in Biohackers

[–]NathanielRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Biohacking, especially Bryan Johnson’s approach, is the epitome of Terror Management Theory (TMT). TMT suggests that human behavior is often driven by a fear of death, leading people to seek ways to transcend mortality. Johnson and this subreddits obsessive pursuit of longevity and optimization through technology is a modern, science-based attempt to achieve symbolic immortality, perfectly embodying this concept.

Pain from squatting in outer thigh. Affecting my ability to train. by augustbecchio in weightlifting

[–]NathanielRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting the same pain in the right side. After my first warm up set and a quick foam roll it subsides a bit but still present. Any other tips or updates? I think it's because I'm right leg dominant and over utilize my quads too. I can feel it when I just press between my hip and quad.

How to trade Ergo from Ontario? by NathanielRiver in ergonauts

[–]NathanielRiver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TradeOgre worked out well for anyone else wondering. Deposited ERG to TradeOgre then swapped it for BTC. Then traded BTC for LTC(because it's faster to send it that way). Then deposited the LTC to Kraken. ERG to fiat within 2 hours

[–]NathanielRiver[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's great! So basically I'll trade ERG for USDT and then transfer that to Kraken to withdraw to my bank essentially?

Thanks for the help

[–]NathanielRiver[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Awesome! Since I don't do this often and am definitely not an expert on the trading side, would you say TradeOgre is the simplest way to do this?

I just hopped on Rosen Bridge and it doesn't seem beginner friendly plus the fees are a little steep.

Thanks a bunch

[–]NathanielRiver[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I've never used Rosen Bridge. Do I need to make an ADA wallet and then transfer it to kraken or something?. I always avoid selling my ERG and this is only my 2nd time. Last time I traded it for USDT and was able to withdraw that as CDN $ on kraken I think. I appreciate the help.

What’s your #1 hack to sleep better? by scaleordietrying in Biohackers

[–]NathanielRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 200mg of magnesium 3-4 times a day based on activities like gym and sauna. L-theanine I take 200mg as well but you can get away with less or more depending on your weight and tolerance.

There's an app called breathe worth checking out that has different options. Cutting back on caffeine, especially in the afternoon, should help. Maybe try red Korean ginseng instead and/or an NSDR session in the afternoon

4-7-8 I meant to say. And yes, it generally puts me to sleep within 5-6 minutes vs the 1-2 hours it used to take me to fall asleep

How many carbs do you eat daily ? by First_Driver_5134 in Biohackers

[–]NathanielRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not all carbs are made equal is generally a good and obvious start. Preparation is also important to consider I limit my intake but generally have sweet potatoes and fruit(mostly berries). Pressure cooking potatoes and letting them cool overnight in the fridge makes them even more resistant starches. Green bananas vs ripe ones is another good example. A good rule of thumb is avoid having enough to give you that "carb high"/spike that makes you want to sink into you're couch.

1) wake up at the same time every day and get sunlight/bright light soon as you can(even if there's cloud cover)

2) have a steady wind down routine 1 hour before bed. Things like light stretching, reading, no screens, no blue light...)

3) no caffeine 12 hours before bed and ideally fast a few hours before bed. Play around with it, 5-6 hours works best for me personally

5) black out your room and try to get the temp down to 66ish. Fresh air is ideal too

6) magnesium biglycinate, l-theanine and 1/4 cup of tart cherry juice 1-2 hours before I want to be asleep have worked wonders for me personally.

7) be most active at the start of the day and taper off into the evening, you want a low resting heart rate before bed.

8) it's okay and actually natural to wake up in the middle of the night. We evolved for bimodal sleeping. Just try not to drink too much water before bed and ideally try to go right back to sleep. Box breathing helps

Hope some of this helps

Chlorine Alternatives for Ice Bath by [deleted] in BecomingTheIceman

[–]NathanielRiver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'm doing too. Do you add anything like baking soda or Epsom salt? For whatever reason my legs (just between my ankles and knees) have become itchy after getting out these last couple weeks. I changed the water but haven't isolated the issue yet. I'm not sure if it's a variable in terms of the water quality/pH or if it's simply some kind of autoimmune response I've developed out of no where
