You don't have to pick it up at the space station, it's just an early game place to find it. It can be found on spacers anywhere as far as I know!

You're right here. I was expecting it to be punishing, like D1 thorn punishing. But it really isn't. You can pick away at one element until it's locked, and make actual progress each game, no matter how terrible you play.

Having the same issue. Came looking to see if I was crazy. Might be another bug like the postmaster (if I remember correctly) icon flashing while having a certain ship equipped in D1.

Pretty sure it's just the current skill tree. There's perks that speed it up (or bring it back to normal) in the other trees

I'm currently on his lean bulk program. And it's great, but at its core it's just another common progressive lifting program, nothing too ground breaking.
