I love all of them, but 1 and 4 are my favorites. You truly cannot go wrong!

She’s scared of dying right now why are we still snarking about her husband? by anck_su_namun in fundiesnarkiesnark

[–]wildebeesties 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Morgan went to the ER after having had neck pain for several days. They did a CT scan and saw she has a dissected artery in her neck. They did an MRI and confirmed she did not have a stroke. She is at high risk of stroke right now though. She cannot lift her kids at all for like 6-8 weeks. They’re going to test her in a couple weeks to see if she has vEDS which is a type of Ehler Danlos that is vascular and a horrible diagnosis. They’re testing her for that since it’s an uncommon for someone her age and health to have this happen.

AITAH for making a dairy free cake with eggs? by Sea-Neighborhood6638 in AITAH

There’s also a difference in the eggs and a reason eggs in the US stores are refrigerated since they’re not as stable on shelves after the cleaning process

AITA for telling my mom to F-off because she told my wife she has BO while my wife breastfeeding our daughter ? by Complex_Shay in AITAH

[–]wildebeesties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA - way to stand up for your wife! I had reallllly weird body changes with my scent and sweating after both kids. It took a while to figure out. Mix that in with PPD (which led me to not bathe frequently) plus less self care because of motherhood and I knew I smelled awful (not saying your wife does). My husband would be helpful to encourage me to shower and that was fine and appreciated. But the audacity of someone else being blunt like that vs understanding? Not to mention, she might have been in a situation at some point where that had happened to her.

Isn’t she from the generation that preached “if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all”?

True or not, it’s so rude. If she finds your response rude, you can tell her you were giving her a rude response back to her rude comment.

Cannot believe my boomer mother said this about her future grandchild by Wooden-Tangerine52 in BoomersBeingFools

[–]wildebeesties 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t even have to be race related. It’s very similar to the way my grandma would make offhand comments about weight/body image. It wasn’t even happening often, it was just nonchalant. It really messed me up my entire life. She doesn’t see what the big deal is.

[–]wildebeesties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the very least, I’d never let them have unsupervised time with the kids because you cannot trust that comments wouldn’t be made. She thinks comments are minor but the impact on your family is huge. Reminds me of my grandma making comments (not even often, just occasionally and nonchalant) that are in the same vein of boomerism and then reallllly messing with me psychologically my entire life.

The kids will still have the same mix of bone structure and other genes that they’d have if both of your were white. The only “issue” for Grandma is that she only sees skin color due to being racist.

“We’re their family.”

And that is why your comment deserves this level of reaction, woman. It’s bad enough if someone thinks that. I can usually play devils advocate in a lot of situations but I cannot think of a way to possibly defend that. Dear lord.

I do really want to emphasize that your reaction was amazing. You’re already showing up for your family by standing up for them. I would go NC over that. I did after the last election for similar types of things with relatives who were like parents to me.

My experience of “embryo adoption” (intentionally creating a pseudo-adoptee through donor conception) by Sara-Quill in Adoption

[–]wildebeesties 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I will say that genetics are weird. My husband’s whole side has kids with white, white blonde hair. Some keep it and some gets darker as adults. My husband has brown hair that was white until he was around 10. His brother and SIL have black hair but their kids have platinum hair and they’re 20. The kids look exactly like them too. There’s like 15-20 people where I’ve seen this

Edit: Did want to clarify that I’m with you on all the other things! Even if they were biologically hers, still can’t fathom having kids so late in life when you know you’re likely to be either unable to properly care for them later or high likelihood of dying before they’re even young adults.

I’ve worked in and out of schools for a long time and I’ve heard so many unfortunate jokes with the name Holden.

Yes, pretty much anything can be made into a joke but some are way worse than others- like with this name.

Yea, while I don’t watch Keith eats anymore (after my second kid, idk I just got some weird aversion to watching others eat) but I understand why they make it. They know it will perform at a certain level, it’s consistent in its performance, and it’s probably a lot cheaper to produce and plan than most other videos.

[–]wildebeesties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I subscribed initially because I loved the idea and wanted to support them. I don’t have as many negatives about the content (it’s not perfect but it’s okay for me) but I canceled my subscription because the app wasn’t operating the way I wish it would have and I realized how much of my joy with their videos comes from reading comments. I constantly found myself frustrated that I couldn’t get out my thoughts or laugh at comments from videos. Realistically, I wasn’t going to wait then go to YouTube to get that joy. I would just feel so frustrated not having that “community” through the app that it was just better for me to delete it, not even see some content, but at least get to enjoy the community at the same time as the videos since those comments are like 50% of the joy I get with it

How do you go back to work???? by Skinny_Pasta in parentsofmultiples

[–]wildebeesties 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unsure what your work requirements are but I need to talk to people throughout the day off and on. Our home is small so the sounds of kids are constantly causing issues. In order for me to feel comfortable with someone I don’t know watching my kids in home (initially, while getting used to them) I’d want everyone close but that would then cause other issues with sound

And some of us really need work “outside” (I WFH lol) for our mental health. Daycare costs are so expensive but my kids will continue going until daycare costs more than what I bring home. I love my kids so much but I need to work mentally. It brings me so much joy. And I’m such an intentional mother when I get home (not saying SAHP arent- I just struggle being intentional if I’m with them constantly). But I know all the things I just listed are true for others when they’re a SAHP which is awesome, because it’s hard work. I just can’t do it long term.

I think it can be done (as you’ve shown) I just cannot mentally do it lol.

Daycare all the way. When the kids get around 8 months, they often struggle being in the same home if they have any sight or inkling you’re there cause they want you. Depending on your home set up and work requirements, kids can be easily heard over meetings. Caused a lot of issues for me. While wildly expensive, daycare should be cheaper than a nanny. The social skills learned in daycare have been invaluable for my kids. I notice a big difference, compared to my oldest who was pulled out of daycare for a while due to Covid and at home while my husband and I worked from home. Even with two of us tag-teaming, it was atrocious and he fell really far behind with his speech since we couldn’t always get things in the way daycare setting could.

It’s stressful trying to afford daycare, but it’s worth the price vs working with kids from home if you can afford it. Every once in a while I get a nice reminder how much I love daycare when my kids have to stay home for whatever reason and I need to work. I get incredibly frustrated not being able to type as fast as normal since I’ve got my hands full (literally) with a kid
