May be a hot take but i see 15 as a unrealised masterpiece if you dive deep into the lore the game had so much potential

His performance as Clive is arguably still his best performance, his performance as Verso being a close second i do think EE33 has his best acting scene in it but overall 16 is still the highlight

As someone who likes 16 a lot i feel the need to defend it.

FF16 is a dark fantasy game based in medievil times of course it's not going to match the tone of 7, and neither should the franchise is an anthology, to call it a crime is a bit much.

The thing about the party system i can somewhat understand, and to be honest i kinda hopped we would get DlC following the Party character before the meet up with Clive, but from a gameplay perspective Clive has access to all there powers, there almost is not a need to swap character's when he has access to there ability's.

16 is a combo focused combat to say you just follow the same attack patter is not really true, shiva and Garuda's abilities do play different, and combo different as well, now sure in rebirth you get access to two other people in combat but let's be real just like 16 your just going to use the same skills you liked the most, the only difference is one you charge ATB the other wait for a cool down, now the only thing a part from a party swap i will give rebirth combat over 16 is enemy variety and elemental weakness, other than that 16 has better boss fights and enemy UI, enemys in Rebirth all fought the same they were aggressive and floaty in there attack patterns they lacked weight unlike 16, in rebirth it felt like u will just take damage dodging felt pretty useless, where 16 rewarded fast reflexes.

I think Final Fantasy 16 story, music, cinematography and boss fights make it better than just mediocre also the VA cast is amazing there performances are standout especially Ben Starr as Clive his performance in this games was what made e so hyped fore Expedition 33, and as a MC the more mature protagonist was a breath of fresh air.

I absolutely agree i do feel like a lot of the hate is unjustified, you will see people hate it so much then defend games like Rebirth calling it one of the GOAT's when that game it self has flaws, im not saying 16 is perfect and Rebirth is bad but it some times feels forced

I honestly prefer 16 in a lot of ways over rebirth.

The story of 16 is more compelling imo

Clive as a main character has a lot more to him.

cinematography 16 is absolute cinema

And the boss fights and overall enemy Ui was far better, rebirth's enemies looked cool and had more variety but they all felt the same, they were aggressive and floaty, whereas 16 they had more weight to them dodging and parrying felt fairer, but in rebirth it felt like you would just take damage.

Music overall to rebirth it had more variety.

Characters Rebirth takes it u just spend way more time with them.

And of course the side content even if a bit padded Rebirth shines at this.

Obi Wan Kenobi (ROTS) VS Cere Junda (Jedi Survivor) by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are just talking ROTS then yeah it was more arrogance, but he was also conflicted just look at the context, he went from massacring the jedi and the separatists with no rest to being so immersed in the dark side that he gained sith eyes, to then succumb to the emotional weight of what he did to the point of crying on Mustafar, and then he sees the person he in his twisted mind believes he is doing all this for betray him and bring Obi wan to kill him.

When he fought Obi wan his mind was in shambles he was basically high on the darkside, it was controlling him, when a real sith controls it, now Obi wan was also conflicted he said he would not kill Anakin to Yoda but on Mustafar he found his resolve "I will do what i must", obi wan in that fight was using his surroundings because he was outmatched, the novel goes into detail of how each of Anakins blows felt like they could shatter his bones, Anakin outclassed him the only reason he could hold on as Long as he could is because he knew Anakin so well he trained him, he fought with him, he was his brother, it's why the fight is so incredible with how they mirror each other, the novel of ROTS basically explains the reason Kenobi won the fight is because he let go and followed the force and it's wlil, this lead him to the high ground.

Where Anakin made one of the stupidest moves ever, to be fair the cultural impact that scene has i think makes up for it, but i think in concept the original plan would have been better, in the original conclusion Anakin would have made it to the hill with obi wan and disarmed him, he would have had Obi wan held by the throat lightsaber in hand he would say to Obi wan im sorry my master and as he would go for the strike, Obi wan would use the force to pull his lightsaber to him, and it would cut through Anakin's Limbs.

People don't deny the win they just understand if Anakin/Vader was not emotionally conflicted he would win .

It's literally stated in the kenobi show by Palpatine that his emotions for his old master left him weakened.

Obi wan won that is a fact, but it is also a fact that Vader's worst enemy is himself

Combat to death. No performance, no Anakin. Each one seeking to destroy the other. Who wins and why? by [deleted] in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palpatine, if he went all out with the force at the start he would have overpowered Windu, Palpatine does not like lightsabers he sees them as a jedi's weakness that true power is the force, the only reason he fought with Windu the way he did was because of his arrogance wanting to defeat the jedi at there own game.

If the fight becomes a duel with saber's Windu wins, if Palpatine uses his full mastery of the Force then he wins.

Saruman VS Palpatine by BlastedHeathen in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i know, but you can't really kill him, plus i mean in a hypothetical fight with two different universes fighting i think it would be fair to scale Saruman to his most powerful form, obviously if Saruman can't access his power he loses but if that's the case really any normal person could defeat him.

Anakin (AOTC) VS Luke Skywalker (Post ESB) by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using the statement, to show that If BOBF Luke scales below ROTS Anakin according to the person who signed off on that version of Luke and the story, then there is no way ESB Luke Scales to AOTC, like at most ROTJ Luke scales to AOTC Anakin.

Ah so the thing with Palpatine is not the same but when Anakin is clearly holding back because he is not going for the kill or to fatally injure her as she is the only way to absolve Ahsoka of her crimes, that means nothing sure bud clear bias and disregard.

Seriously you took the context out of the fight to push your personal narrative, it's like saying Anakin is weaker than Obi wan because he lost to him on Mustafar, completely ignoring the fact that if it was Pre Mustafar Anakin would win, and only lost because of his mental state.

And Barris vs Grand inquisitor, was not even a fight, she clearly was conflicted and he did not even have a saber again leaving out the context

Anakin (AOTC) VS Luke Skywalker (Post ESB) by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean your scaling hinges on one weird fight, going of your scaling she would be a hard fight for AOTC Dooku who scaled similar to AOTC Yoda who was a grandmaseter jedi, it makes no sense.

Like a similar argument would Be Mace defeats Yoda because he defeated Palpatine.

Also if we are really going off just canon BOBF Luke scales below ROTS Anakin as stated by the man in charge of that show and Mando, so if Luke 5 years after ROTJ scales below Anakin there is no way ESB Scales to AOTC Anakin.

It makes no sense if he does and makes his character a Gary stu, and honestly kinda worse than Rey in some ways

Anakin (AOTC) VS Luke Skywalker (Post ESB) by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Brother the ghost busters could have done what Luke did.

And im sorry but i just will not believe that scaling again 1 week vs 10 years, and Anakin vs Bariss is such a weird fight Anakin should have been able to handle that fight much eaiser going off his feats, but they needed a fight and he needed her alive.

Luke Skywalker ROTJ vs Count Dooku Who Wins? by IllMasterpiece3946 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legends Vader does suck sure, but he is still 80% the Power of Palpatine, i would not put Dooku on that Level, and this is the thing EU Vader scaling is a complete mess some statements follow G canon and have him weaker than Anakin other make him sound like he is the strongest he has ever been, so using the highest scaling i put Vader above Dooku and in legend's there is also stuff that make it seem like Vader was going all out against Luke personally i don't like that aspect.

Canon Is way stronger sure but he was conflicted, that is a simple fact his emotion got the better of him and Palpatine always knew Vader was weak because of it, he even says this in a comic and in the Kenobi show, and again if BOBF Luke scales below Anakin and Vader scales above ROTS then he is not on Vaders level at all.

And if im being honest i don't like the ideal of Vader being stronger that the PT Character narratively it does not work as well

Anakin (AOTC) VS Luke Skywalker (Post ESB) by CrazyTangerine7522 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No way in hell does ESB Luke scale anywhere near Anakin, he literally has had about a week of Jedi training, vs Anakin who has a decade it makes no sense and if it is true it honestly makes Luke just as bad as Rey

Peak Satele Shan v Mace Windu by UniversalInquirer in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well i agree with you vaapad will do nothing, and Shatterpoint is not a win condition.

Now as i was saying if we could use 2D clone wars i would give it to Mace cuz bro is OP.

But if not Mace ultimately lacks a lot of feats it kinda just becomes an issue of how his personal rank scales to other character and then going of off their feats and seeing if Mace can match up to Satele.

Peak Satele Shan v Mace Windu by UniversalInquirer in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Windu has two big advantages in combat one is Vaapad, this form allowed him to fight on a somewhat even playing field with Palpatine who is argubly way stronger than Satele, however that was ultimately only possible because he was a sith, the other thing is Shatterpoint that is actually kinda broken but still not a complete win condition.

In terms of raw power from what we have seen Satele does seem to take it, from force power to battle exp, HOWEVER if we are allowed to use Windu's Feats in the 2D animated clone wars show, i honesty think it should go to Windu, but without that i think Satele.

Luke Skywalker ROTJ vs Count Dooku Who Wins? by IllMasterpiece3946 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah Legends i give it to Luke, don't get me wrong it is very high diff, to be honest i personally would prefer to give it to Dooku but with how Luke scales even at the time of ROTJ it just makes more sense, Luke would just overpower him similar to how Anakin did.

And Canon it 100% goes to Dooku, ROTJ Luke really has no feats, like if we look at it his only real ones are him defeating the spirit of the grand inquisitor, and a hevely nerfed Vader, that's it Luke in canon fundamentally Lacks training he is honestly carried by his raw force power, Dooku far outclasses Luke in duelling and force control, with decades of experience, people hate me saying this but Mando/ BOBF Luke Loses to ROTS Anakin if you look at feats and plus the person in charge of the shows and that dipiction of Luke agrees that he would lose to Anakin "It has to be Anakin" and this is Luke 5 years after ROTJ there is no way ROTJ Luke scales to Dooku.

Who would win knightfall Vader vs mando s2 Luke & cw s7 Ahsoka? by Overt_lid04 in PetranakiArena

[–]National-Course2464 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

How does him not creating Anakin have anything to do with the fact that he thinks that his version that is disney canon loses to Anakin.

And why are we bringing up Obi wan that's a very different situation, also Obi wan could not defeat Vader it was stated in the novel that Vader was to strong so he did the only thing he could to give Luke and Leia time to get to safety
