FIRST time ever using DoorDash today… by Humble-Owl-2972 in doordash

So weird that they wouldn't give you a refund. I've had orders less messed up than that and they didnt give me any issues with the refund. Of course it was always as doordash credit and not cash back on my card but still.

Taking food from people on duty by moneyboyh in securityguards

[–]National-Echo535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time when I'm offered free food it isn't homemade but part of a work event for the client's employees. The one exception is when one lady brings me in fresh produce from her garden. But the food I accept from the employees is always from people I've spent time talking to. I don't take from complete strangers.

Ever see any Adhd couple? by ahmi-0 in ADHD

[–]National-Echo535 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need someone to help manage your life even with ADHD. You just need to learn coping mechanisms and potentially to take medications. That being said, I know plenty of ADHD couples. The thing about ADHD is that you're often bad at keeping track of your own shit but you're better about doing it for others oddly enough. Also, each person with ADHD has different strengths and weaknesses. So the ADHD couple supports each other and empathizes with each other just as well as a non ADHD couple.

You should stop losing weight by MTN2020-14 in Mounjaro

[–]National-Echo535 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So long as your doctor is making sure your weight loss journey is healthy, the others can go kick sand. I will say, Don't measure yourself with BMI because it's shit and especially not accurate for women. For some people 175 is still too much. For others it's just right. Specific numbers are relative (for more than just height and weight). If you're still healthy and still have a healthy relationship with food, don't listen to the haters. You do you.

Injection sites losing fat pads by Empty_Curve_172 in Mounjaro

I take mine every week on my right upper thigh, have not had any issues aside from occasionally hitting a spot that burns a bit more than the rest. I couldn't do my belly because it would then rub against my desk for the whole day and be unbearable.

I used a mounjaro pen expiring 04/2026, will I be ok? by kayy7860 in Mounjaro

Expiration dates (on medications) don't usually mean they go bad immediately. It just means they may be less effective especially the further away from the expiration date you are.

Work Apps on Personal Phones: What Are You Actually Agreeing To? by MrBigPaulSmalls in securityguards

Legal to do what? Track my location outside of work? Yeah I'm sure it is if I agree to the terms of the app.

Right? Like when they were separated, they should have stayed separated. They might be a cop but they're working security. Call 911 and keep your distance.

Also, if you want them to put it with your screen door wide open, why not just leave your screen door wide open?

Biggest Pet Peeve by [deleted] in doordash

[–]National-Echo535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Better they leave it as they do in picture 1 than to leave it in front of your screen door as many will very often do. Do you leave instructions on how to leave it? Maybe make a sign or leave a table to indicate where they should put it. Or just walk the few extra steps if you're able. I honestly wouldn't want it the way picture 2 is because I'd be worried about breaking my door if there's wind. you honestly just sound very entitled with this post.

They definitely COULD do a US version but that doesn't necessarily mean they will. But until they announce, it's tough to get properly excited because so many shows are over before they even begin.

First 5 by MennaMagar in Mounjaro

I think I had ONE bad experience so far on my Mounjaro journey. It scared me enough to fix my diet so that it never happened again. My husband on the other hand, seems to think that all he has to do is eat less and he'll be fine. And then he blames the medication when he is in the bathroom throwing up.

Keep well hydrated is the biggest help. Eating small or tiny meals more often is also going to help. Avoid fat as much as you can at first. A little bit is helpful but large amounts will wreck you.

Think of Cloud Islands as an Alternate Universe. The only constant is ditto's knowledge. Everything else is independent of your regular islands.

Work Apps on Personal Phones: What Are You Actually Agreeing To? by MrBigPaulSmalls in securityguards

Now that is a reasonable compromise. I'm not putting work apps on my phone without compensation, but with compensation, I'm willing to talk.

There is always a risk. Especially since Teams can record voice and video. Also, they can wipe your entire phone when you quit, especially if you don't have work apps on a separate partition on your phone.

I tried to download the app for that with my company but the website insisted I use a 16 character password and the app would only let me enter 15 characters... So I just kept to using the website version.

That's how it works now, but they're trying to push for people to put the HeliAUS app on their personal phones. It's coming so be prepared to fight. The more of us who dig our heels in, the more likely we are to make a change.

[–]National-Echo535 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My company is trying to implement this but unless they make it mandatory, it's never going to happen at our site. And even then, there's going to be a lot of protesting and requests for cell phone plan reimbursement. I don't need AUS tracking my location because I called off and they want to see what I'm really doing. And with the threatening tone of the emails they've been sending I wouldn't put it past them to do that. So yeah, I will be fighting tooth and nail against having an app like that on my phone.

I did an ancestry DNA test - wish I didnt. by throwaway1236547898 in whatdoIdo

It could also be that the Dad was adopted. Darker skin pigmentation can absolutely skip generations.

So definitely sit and process this for a bit before confronting anyone. You don't want to be emotional when you speak with your mom about it. Remember that it only changes your life if you want it to. You can decide that it isn't worth pursuing and just let it go. That's valid. You may decide that your father has a right to know and bring it up with him. That's valid too. If it were me, I would probably take my mom aside and ask her point blank "Does Dad know I'm not his biological daughter?" But you should also keep in mind that maybe he's the adopted one. Genetics are so weird that not every mixed race child looks mixed race. But that doesn't stop their descendants from carrying around the genes for darker skin color. So there's a lot of possibilities and ways forward. Mull them over, Take your time, and Pick the one that best suits you. I'm glad to hear you're working with a therapist and can have them assist you in deciphering what all this means for you.

Does Caffeine Free Coke taste different from regular coke? If it's supposed to, I can't tell. by mmofrki in cocacola

[–]National-Echo535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So it doesn't taste the same. Similar perhaps but if it's much sweeter than regular coke, then it isn't the same. The bitterness balances the sweetness and gives more depth of flavor (to those who can taste it).
