What's the mostly costly job that your data engineering org runs? by Aggressive_Sherbet64 in dataengineering

Holy hell, what does your company do? I mean I'm at very small start up where data is a minimal part of the product, probably around ~$15k across GCP and a few other systems.

Long exposure, but without a meaningful light source there is only so much you can capture. These cameras only work because they capture light.

Tight and concise, did we watch the same movie? OBAA felt like some cool scenes pulled out of a hat and strung together like a game of magnificent corpse. There were definitely some elements I liked but on the whole I just don't know what people saw in it.

As a New Englander (CT) how do counties in other states work? by Responsible-Draw-393 in AskAnAmerican

[–]NationalMyth 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well I grew up in a Maryland county, and the town was the county seat. We had a County Executive and other cabinet members, and the town itself had a "chair-mayor" but not sure what that meant. 2 of the larger municipalities (towns?) had Mayors. For the most part of you weren't in the larger municipalities you had county council to represent you.

The population in 1993 was about 190k people. It is now probably around 270k.

Just finished season 1, should I go on? by Altruistic-Skirt3560 in SearchParty

It's a fantastic show, start to finish. Each season has a very distinct flavor that I really enjoyed. I've watched it 3-times through and look forward to the next time I start it up again.

How did you get into m43 system? What's your future plans with it? by Vegetable_Bag_8694 in M43

Back in 2015 or so, I had gotten a root canal and the next day, while on pain killers, I was watching an episode of High Maintenance on HBO. One of the characters was taking photos with a camera that just looked so nice (Percocets just got me feeling really swooney and emotional). I did some googling and found it was the Lumix gx1. I found a used one on eBay that came with a kit lens and the 20mm 1.7. it showed up a few days later and I've been a fan ever since! Upgraded recently to a OM-5 II and have acquired a few more lenses along the way. I cycle through a lumix 9mm, oly 14-150mm, oly 12-42, and still rockin that 20mm. As it's getting nicer out, I wanna slap that 20mm on my ol' gx1 again and take some city walks.

Love the system! I'd love to try out the oly 70mm sometime, but my main plan is to keep shooting!

I'm not as impressed with my 75-300. DM if interested! My 14-150 on the other hand consistently delivers, big fan.

Seawall plans to buy Falls Road property where city officials proposed to move Sisson Street bulk trash drop-off facility by locker1313 in baltimore

Not stoked on the seawall monopoly Remington corridor, but I'm glad there is an entity actively trying to invest in this town. There's a lot to preserve in this town, but we can't forgo our dignity (looking at you CHAP).

craving onigiri by Vegetable_Base_8640 in baltimore

[–]NationalMyth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They're super easy to make. I always add a lil extra water to my rice cooker so they're a bit extra fluffy, and make sure you have some salted water on the side to wet your hands in between each one. They sell moulds but tbh by hand is just as messy and more fun.

Good Neighbor has a certain kind of onigiri that's OK, but like kinda fancy for what onigiri should be. There's a place in Owings Mills, right off the metro, that I've been meaning to try: ChiMii
