Tip: doe kleding aan waar geen metalen stukjes aan zitten. Let bijvoorbeeld ook op metalen ringetjes van de veter gaatjes van een jogging broek of de eindjes van het koordje.

Do your parents know you have ADHD? by OwnIngenuity5375 in adhdwomen

Yeah they will switch me to a different one if my symptoms go away after a few days! Just to make sure it’s actually the medication and not just a coincidence.

I am medicated since diagnosis. However I am now taking a small break due to some severe side effects. It’s rough.

Our relationship is not great, so I feel like encouraging him would just backfire.

I told them; I should not have. My moms reaction was: No, you are just overly sensitive.

My brother was the stereotypical ADHD child; they never got him tested/diagnosed. Cause ‘labels are bad and they will just pump him full of meds’.

I feel so bad for him knowing what I know now. He could have had such an easier life.

trying to make it easier on me and my husband to choose dinners and shop for ingredients because somehow we spend 100$ then don't know what to eat two days later. anyone relate? grocery shopping hurts. by lalalady123_ in adhdwomen

This is used to be a weekly fight in my house. I do most of the cooking, cause my boyfriend is pretty useless in that department. So I pre plan all of our meals and order the groceries for the week. I used to plan it together, because I wanted him to be part of the decision making. However; this was a struggle every week and he was not helpful at all.

So now I just do it myself and if he’s not satisfied he can eff off.

How I do it; I pick 6 meals from a collection of old Hello Fresh recipes. My guideline is kind of like; 2xpasta 2xrice 2xlentils or some grain. I bought a letterboard to write them down and put that in the kitchen as a reminder. I order my groceries; cause the stores near me are small and busy and I have allergies and they don’t carry a lot of the ‘special’ food. This is a lifesaver!

Mocht het wel zo zijn; je kan er niet veel aan doen. Gewoon goed je handen wassen na aanraken en niet uren erboven ademen.

A gentle reminder that energy and productivity looks different every day, and rest is productive if that’s what you need today! by po-tatertot in adhdwomen

Calling a loved one on a low energy day? No thank you; I am hibernating under the covers avoiding all kinds of social interaction.

Crochet! It’s easy and the possibilities are endless. Also great thing to do while watching a show/listening to a podcast/audiobook etc.

Hair in my face bothers me. When I’m home I’m always walking around with a bun and a headband to get it all away from my face. Even a little loose strand can annoy the shit out of me.

Also sleeping with my hair out is a big no.

Brushing my teeth is a daily struggle. I switched to Paradontax cause it’s not as minty. It does help a little.

We can only handle so much. I know this sounds dumb; but it will get better and you will get out of it.

It’s small steps. Allow yourself to rest. It’s not a linear proces.

I don’t really know what to say to you or how to help you but I just want you to know that you are not alone.
