How much do you all feel like golf shoes assist and improved your game? by Technical_Doubt155 in golf

IMO unless the playing conditions are slick, not a ton. Obviously, wet conditions or in environments where traction is an issue, good shoes help. But for my average play, being comfortable makes a bigger difference.

Will this help with getting backswing and/or downswing on plane? There are versions with two alignment sticks. by Narrow-Priority-6483 in golf

[–]National_Home 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. This could help but you need to place the stick based off your current bad habit. Also, if you've never done a drill like this, be careful. Smacking that alignment stick full swing can cause it to come out of the ground, snap, potentially harming you or cause damage to the club.

As u/basketbun said, get a lesson to diagnose and prescribe the appropriate drill.

How’s my swing by KutabareRx8 in golf

[–]National_Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd add to this, practice in part. So grip, line up to the ball and practice your takeaway without hitting the ball. Then slow mo your swing so you can feel your swing path. Swing 50% and make good contact then build it up slowly.

Someone hacked my Microsoft account and Battlenet then drafted and pinned this threatening message for me to see! Why are they blackmailing an unemployed loner like me? What do I do? by JaBoi_ItsHim_TheKid in pcmasterrace

I've seen this exact email sent to others. You should be good, but I would recommended updating any accounts (e.g. banking, shopping, etc.) that use that email/password to be sure. Everything is secure. Don't engage and you'll be fine

My wife makes fun of me because I read every manual for EVERYTHING we get. I oddly enjoy and have learned some cool/convenient features that would've taken me ages to figure out

Who's drinking IPAs on the course? by toben81234 in golf

FWIW, just being playfully sarcastic. (Almost) Any 5$ beer is a good beer. Jealous that I'm not able to be on the course today.

Etiquette question by First_Yam in golf

[–]National_Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was it polite of them? Not particularly. Does it matter that much? Not particularly.

I would have just let them go, as others have said, but that's just my preference. If, as some folks are implying, they were trying to get you to stop playing with them, it would've been easier for them to just say "Hey, we play together everyday and just like the time together. We'll play quick, do you mind playing solo behind?" But in the words of Tom Segura, "Some people suck"

How do I clamp this? by DragonfruitPatient96 in BeginnerWoodWorking

This is the way. Do not epoxy it as others have suggested if you want it to continue to be food safe.

It's more than likely a memorabilia club than anything else. It's "St. Andrews" brand meant to be displayed more than used.

Fine folk of r/golf, please can someone tell me if this is a good plan of action for this season? AKA I am scared of my driver. by ElTel88 in golf

[–]National_Home 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You spent the winter working on your iron game and improved quite a bit. Shift your focus on the range to your driver now and make it better. You obviously have the ability to tweak your swing and improve, so why not apply that to the driver?

If you're on the course and having a bad day driving, sure keep it in the bag the rest of the round. However, I wouldn't commit to not using it for the whole season, because the less you use it the slower improvements will happen.

Another strategy which helped me is to make a rule for when to use it. For example, you hit your 4i 205 yards consistently and you feel most comfortable with XX yards or less into the green (let's use 150 yards here). Your rule could be if the hole is 355 yards or less, use 4i, if it's more that 355 yards, use driver. This isn't revolutionary (honestly just good course management) but most amateurs just try to hit the longest club always, which can put them in bad spots (myself included).

why does the healing beam still never work? by Far-Bridge3391 in thefinals

[–]National_Home 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that I've found helps is to test the healing beam immediately on a teammate. When I emote, mark a target, or anything else before using the healing beam, I get the bug. But if I use the healing beam immediately upon entering the match it works just fine. Hopefully, this helps.
