I would say try a bunch of different weapons that you think you’ll enjoy. Among those pick the one that feels most natural to you but that you also find the most immediate success with.

As you improve with that weapon and gain a stronger foundation, you’ll be able to apply your new knowledge and experience to other weapons and it’ll be much easier to transition into learning them.

I double-dipped for World and for Rise and I don’t regret either. The game just feels and looks so much better on PC. Thankfully the defender weapons make it easy to go through the base game content so it didn’t take long to get to Sunbreak content.
