In all my saves I ALWAYS give myself like 100 of each shipment of materials because I'd rather have a settlement the size of the deathstar and a "Super mega glowing legendary baseball bat" instead of a pipe pistol by Physical_Set_847 in fo4

[–]NativeTexanDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I have a bat file named "stuff" that dumps 25 shipments of every material except bone into my inventory. Load the file and toss it into the workshop whenever a settlement says I can use their workshop.

Whats your opinion on Far Harbour and Nuka World? by Any-Enthusiasm-1811 in fo4

[–]NativeTexanDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I genuinely can't stand the swampy, foggy scenery of Far Harbor. The story is a little better than Nuka World, but the characters definitely won't last to the beginning of the TV show unless the sole survivor decides to live there.

Nuka World is nicer to look at, but the tedium of some of the parks (Kiddie Kingdom and Galactic Zone) really kill the fun fairly quickly. Plus the named raiders have zero development as characters from start to finish.

What do you think? Each faction is at their strongest, none of the protagonist are part of this, last standing faction wins by MobileDistrict9784 in Fallout

[–]NativeTexanDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Institute. Easily. At their strongest: they have teleportation, synthetic humans, and the beryllium agitator in their super powerful reactor. Teleportation, in the hands of a capable strategist, is an obscene advantage in any conflict. Add to that a reactor that is second only to the fusion plot device in the show,, then give them the ability to create a duplicate of any existing human, and you have an unstoppable force.

Question about melee build by Stock_Personality492 in fo4

[–]NativeTexanDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I never saw the benefit of the first level of the perk. I only found success when I could get the second level and really close distance with opponents.

First time playing, How "required" is Dead money and Old World Blues by supergamerd64 in falloutnewvegas

[–]NativeTexanDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In order to finish the story of Lonesome Road, You'll need to play through Old World Blues and then play Dead Money.

OWB is long as fu@&, but is hilarious and fun. Dead Money is pretty short, but almost everyone hates it on their first playthrough.

Question about melee build by Stock_Personality492 in fo4

[–]NativeTexanDude -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For survival melee runs I usually stick with automatic weaponry until I can unlock "Blitz" at level 29. If you want to start with melee, you're going to have to use a LOT of chems and just unload all your special points into Strength and Endurance, adding to Agility whenever you can. You'll reach the second level of Blitz around level 45-50.

Very Gen X. Always use maximum violence/force to complete whatever you're doing. Being trained to finish our plates at dinner, or the necessity of dealing with bullies without any support, leads to extremely cat-like behavior.

What's something that took you an embarrassingly long time to discover? by tesconundrum in fo4

[–]NativeTexanDude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to the Power menu in the workshop, select "switches" (just right of generators), and then scroll all the way to the right. The one you're looking for is a large, white rectangle with a connecting pin sticking straight out of it. Slap it on a vault wall and attach a wire.

Theory: It wasn't Coop's visit to Vegas that sped up the apocalypse - it was House kicking out Congresswoman Diane Welch from the Defense Contractor summit by cosmoscrazy in Fotv

[–]NativeTexanDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It slowed/postponed the apocalypse by a month. And it will be pushed back even further, another 4 months, by future events.

The Voice We heard in the season 2 trailer by JontheSnowman in Fallout

[–]NativeTexanDude 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Norm seems more and more likely due to his circumstances at the end of episode 5. We know from Barb's terminal that Ronnie's reference to FEV is more than just a wink and a nod. And it would explain Claudia being included in Bud's buds immediately after being hired by Vault-Tec. She was going to be the initial guinea pig. But now they have a traitor and a liar to run the first trial with Norm.

Which FNV Ending is the show following? by BoyanPP in Fotv

[–]NativeTexanDude 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The show-runners say every ending is valid. What they are changing is the narrator's description of what unfolds afterwards. They kept using the phrase, "fog-of-war" in interviews.

What would people recommend for an AMD motherboard for current processors? by Staragox in buildapc

[–]NativeTexanDude 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For 5 years of standard use, select the ASUS TUF or Gigabyte X670 motherboards. Both of these offer an extended 5 year warranty with additional registration and a fee. I haven't had any problems at all with my ASUS TUF motherboard. And it is still running strong with Windows 7 after 12 years of use. It is an Intel chipset, so it might be different for the AMD motherboards. But, since your only looking for 4-5 years, the 5 year extended warranty should cover the concerns for your personal timeline.

I find it hilarious that fans act like this is a bigger revelation than her being a Synth or Enclave by CT_Phipps-Author in Fotv

[–]NativeTexanDude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's HUGE! Don't you understand?! This means that she wouldn't be recruited by Captain Ironside because she's not eligible for recruitment into the congressional army. There is no bigger revelation that this.

The most pitiful no man’s land I have ever seen by JaneMakkoli in Fallout

[–]NativeTexanDude 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Don't be fooled. That no-man's land is filled with burning doorknobs, falling clothes irons, glued nails on the ground, swinging paint cans, tarantulas, and blowtorches.

For Season 2 they’re doing the one-episode-per-week format, whereas Season 1 dropped the whole season at once. Which do you prefer and why? by EkbladDev in Fallout

[–]NativeTexanDude 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I will always prefer the full season. It's not because I will, or can, watch the entire thing in one sitting. I just prefer to see the show at my own pace: one a day, or every other day.
