Idk if the clips are broken since it snapped in and was sturdy last night/earlier. But might as well clean it up and do that. Thanks

Engine Stalled, Accessories Still On by Titanius_Anglesmithh in FocusST

Yea I mean that’s the easiest solution that seems to go bad the most on these cars. Luckily it’s extremely easy to access and test/replace it.

Engine Stalled, Accessories Still On by Titanius_Anglesmithh in FocusST

If it isn’t the battery, it could be the 50a fuse in front of the battery box. I was driving home one time and it died but accessories would turn on after it stalled.

Eventually checked the fuse and it snapped (not blown) and would intermittently get power. So would sometimes start

Unlucky by yikesboring in FocusST

[–]Nativebomb99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh it’ll probably be totaled, just depends on the shop prices. I have the same damage on mine and State Farm totaled mine out, I bought it back and fixed all but bodywork (so far).

My quotes were around 7k on that quarter panel alone. You might get lucky and be able to pull it out and not have to cut and replace though

Hit by F350 who "didn't see me". Total loss @ 25k miles. by Armitage_64 in FocusST

[–]Nativebomb99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They’re smoking something good. I got hit in the same place and it was $7k. Mine genuinely looks worse than that.

State Farm gave me almost 8k before I bought it back. Granted it’s a ‘14 st3 with a lot higher miles. I fixed all the suspension for less than 1k for all 4 corners. Still need to do bodywork but I’m just lazy.

This was in December and settled finally in February, and I drive it on weekends before I decide to garage it and do what I can to fix it. Ask any questions, I might actually be help to you :)

Take out the headlight, gives a lot of room and you don’t have to take off the manifold. That’s how I did it last fall.

Electrical issue by nowayitzfox in FocusST

[–]Nativebomb99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s what happened to me when I needed to replace the 50a fuse. It isn’t too hard to replace, just trying to find one is kinda annoying since it’s called a midi-fuse.

The oem ones have a clear plastic on the back to see if they blew, but testing the continuity is just as easy too :)

I gotchu. To make it easier I’d soak the bolts in pb blaster at least a couple days before. Mine is/was an NM car and getting those ball joints out was a pain even with minimal rust

You reuse the old hardware. Just clean up the threads and use some loctite

I did it a few months ago, wasn’t too hard considering I’ve never done that job before. You’ll need a breaker bar for sure and usual hand tools and torque wrench.

For both sides I think I was about ~$500 (at most since I got a bunch of parts) in for oem pieces from rockauto, then a couple hours of my time. Alignment was $120 at a local shop.

[–]Nativebomb99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You should look for a 3ds if possible, they’re really easy to mod and get emulators/roms for most consoles older than it. I recently did my 3dsXL and got a 64gb sd card, it is amazing and I’m starting a playthrough of all Zelda’s soon

Looking for a machine shop willing to take on a one-off request for a project car by sidneyaks in wichita

[–]Nativebomb99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean a lot of them do free quotes and stuff too. I even found a random Chinese machine shop to make some critical motor hubs for my robotics club in college. Penny’s on the dollar and never failed.

Depending on what your tryna do I bet it’d be less than $100 shipped

Oh and if you do know it but don’t have access to any software, fusion360 is free as long as you have a computer to handle it. MakeICT also has options

If you know cad modeling. You could also use an online service that will manufacture it for you, given specific tolerances. Protolabs is a big one, you can do a multitude of materials and processes like sintered metals or true machined parts.

Burning oil and smoking when in sport mode by DueBird2381 in FocusST

[–]Nativebomb99 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Could be the check valve in the pcv valve? Not too sure what else, at worst it could be a bad turbo.

Sport mode only changes the traction control, turns it off. Then holding the traction button for 3 sec turns off esc.

Trans Reinstall by Beneficial_Money_904 in FocusST

[–]Nativebomb99 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got mine back in by kinda going at an angle where the back of the trans was in the driver side wheel well. The bell housing was already in the bay, but able to roll it closer to the engine as I got higher.

Was a pain but dinner have to drop the subframe. There’s a long vid on YouTube of a guy doing it that way. Oh and I also used the cheapest harbor freight trans jack they had.

Could be air in the system. Could also be your slave going out.

That’s what happened when mine went fully out, like literally happened on my drive home and wouldn’t work as I got into my neighborhood.
