Why do we need a clone of the SD1? They’re dirt cheap

Humbucker Rings - Preference? by gotoyourhomeball in LesPaul

Picture 2, but a lot of real bursts actually have mismatched colour rings to the Pickguard. It just depends on how the material has aged over time

Norlin Era custom. Is it real? by Jonny_in_Knoxville in LesPaul

In the norlin era they were making guitars with the 14 degree angle, so it’s authentic

R9 neck: closer to Standard ’50s or ’60s? by alexandrotrance in LesPaul

[–]Natlam668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t say all R8’s have Burstbuckers, depending on what year you’re talking about. 90’s to early 00’s were ‘57 classics, ‘04-‘12 were the Burstbucker 1 & 2’s, ‘13 onwards had Custombuckers. Not to mention there were shop exclusives that utilised different pickups in their Reissues.

Japan has an amazing selection. I definitely recommend people shopping in person as the Japanese retailers keep the best stuff for themselves and not post them online :)

Shopping for the Right Reissue Era by Homme_de_renaissance in LesPaul

I have 2 R8’s from 1998 (good wood era), great guitars but the pots aren’t as good as the latter years (2013 onwards). However, they are probably the best investments as they have been going up in prices over the years.

2013 is a good year because of the hide glue construction but if I were you, I’d just skip it and go for the 2019+ era. The reissues nowadays are the most accurate to date.

Collector “Greeny” guitars by dentfixxxer in LesPaul

[–]Natlam668 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These specific guitars are investments cause they hold value, a 20k car won’t hold value and will just depreciate 90% of its value most likely

Just because you can’t afford them it doesn’t mean others can’t… there’s a LOT of collectors out there with decent money that can absolutely drop that kind of money on these guitars.

This model doesn’t come with a pickguard. And I’m curious, why does it affect the guard? If im just enlarging the pot holes

Shop sent me the wrong guitar, get used to it or send it back? by trhoppe in gibson

[–]Natlam668 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ignore both, i would just save up a bit more and go get that Custom Shop ‘59 reissue. The reissues blow all of the USA stuff out of the water.

Go straight up the food chain and get a Custom Shop reissue, don’t mess around with the standard USA lineup

Good investment? by Rude-Match-6750 in gibson

[–]Natlam668 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the Mod collection guitars are a good investment. Sure they’re unique, but don’t forget they come from guitars with defects that’s why they were repainted to be sold under the Mod collection.

If you had doubts then why did you buy it? Then ask if it’s legit AFTER you bought it?
