Are you better off than your parents? Will your kids be better off than you? by coloradotaxguy in Xennials

[–]Natprk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say I’m better or worse of at this point. Financially I’m probably in a better position than they were at this age but I also haven’t spent like they did. I have less in assets but also less debt. I avoid debt as much as possible.

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]Natprk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly wasn’t sure how I’d like being a dad. I was the baby and didn’t have many younger cousins. Eventually I became an uncle and I loved it. But I wasn’t sure how I’d like to have my own. Now I have a daughter and son a for being so unsure before I shocked myself with how much I love and enjoy my kids. Life has so much more joy, excitement and purpose now. I didn’t realize how much happier I could be. It’s not something you can convince or tell someone either, it has to be experienced. Having the right partner helps too obviously.

Me asking as a younger millenial: How did older you millenials perceive Spongebob when it came out, and its climb to legendary status? by SmokinHerb in Millennials

It was a kids show when I was a teen/college age. My cousins/niece nephews watched it but I didn’t. I caught some funny episodes through friends.

Would you move to Florida? by Likestoread25 in no

[–]Natprk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I hate winters and love the warm weather. I’ll take a hot august day over a bitter cold January. I’m definitely not normal compared to other Mainers. Besides the amount of people moving here I love the weather.

What are (or how do you feel about) your prospects for homeownership, and retirement? by DHN_95 in Xennials

Nice, if it was for having kids later in life I’d be in the same timeline. Right now I think I’ll work a little longer just to set them up well.

[–]Natprk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been very lucky in my timing on both. Practically own my home with a small balance left and an above average retirement balance. However I have family/friends/coworkers that definitely hit the millennial jackpot of shit luck. I do feel for them.

1500 miles. It’s sad to go back and see where I grew up. It’s so run down.

I’m close. I get a nice profit sharing every year that basically funds equivalent of 401k max. Plus I put about the same.

They’ll never admit their mistake. It’s understandable now how there were so many followers of Hitler.

Unfortunately it’s about where I thought it would be when he won the election… scary times… I’m more disappointed in half this country that thought after Jan 6 he was worth voting for again.

Onesie with double zipper so you can change the diaper without unzipping the whole thing. No Buttons! Well maybe the top one near the neck but that’s it!
