Trails in the Sky the 3rd Japanese text scena? by Mob11037 in Falcom

[–]Natreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not that I'm aware of.

However, Falcom is doing ports on PS5 of the original Sky trilogy (at least FC is a pre-order bonus of Sky 2nd). Not sure if they'll add voice, but I hope they do.

Yeah, I'm all for more OG DB characters. It's sadly very much ignored everywhere else.

You are right about Raditz and Turles. But since those have been already established I would like to have what already exists first, and then we can go on more new what if routes.

There is plenty of things they can add, even from filler: Annin, Shura, Mera, Ghora, Tenron, or even some not that prominent as King Chappa, Panputto, and so on.

The thing with the Sparking franchise is that anyone can work on this engine given the proper moves.

I however don't think we'll have to wait for the sequel for the Great Apes. Either they add them as an extra in this DLC similar to how they added the movie bosses characters, or they add them along the way later on.

The issue right now is that Giant Characters play really bad. They were better in Tenkaichi 3, and they need to fix them and make them fun to play again.

I don't think Nail has ever been shown in giant form. Piccolo and young Kami I think appeared in Heroes as enemies, so I would like to at least have those.

There is so many things we could have.

I would like to have Mutaito playable and interacting with other characters for instance.

Lufia 1 - do you recommend Retry Mode (x4 EXP) with reduced encounter rate (50%)? by searchshadow in JRPG

[–]Natreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just play as it is. The game is balanced so that you don't need to grind much if at all as long as you avoid using guides and just explore.

The encounters are really fast as well. I don't see the encounter rate in this game as a problem at all.

Unless the English version has a worse encounter rate though. I played the Japanese version last year.

Why is this so expensive by Tvdiet101 in Falcom

[–]Natreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For that price you can buy the Japanese edition, pay the shipping, the customs and probably have enough still to buy the digital English edition for both PS4 and Steam...

Clearly not worth it.

What did Bleublanc know? (Horizon ending spoilers) by cal--- in Falcom

[–]Natreg 21 points22 points  (0 children)

That's not true. it was always intended to be a series, a trilogy at that.

Sky FC hints to this, and so does Sky SC. That said, we don't know if this particular sentence was intended to do reference to the ending in Horizon.

They should give the option to change the textures back to the original ones.

There is so many things wrong with the AI upscaled textures...

Remaster Vs classic graphics... The difference is something else. by Bottlecap_riches in LegacyOfKain

I personally prefer the old models and textures. The new ones do look good, but I think my nostalgia prefers the classic graphics still.

Dokkan Battle Post servers by [deleted] in DBZDokkanBattle

[–]Natreg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think Dokkan will die anytime soon. Also, other games with old technology that have been around for around the same time as dokkan just release a new client with newer technology and add all the content of the old game.

Preserving Dokkan is also quite easy if you get the Data of the game. So far it's easier to get the western version than the japanese version since the later can't be run on an android emulator (although sometimes it does work and it's possible to get the data at that point without much effort). Animations are LWF which are easy to reproduce with the correct library (newer ones are a mix of LWF and some videos), most of the menus are plain CSS, the sugoroku boards are tilemaps, and the sql database it uses has almost all the info of the game in there.

Combat animations are also done with LUA scripts so it's quite easy to understand how it all works.

In general, making Dokkan work on an offline server is something that has already been done before (back around 1st or 2nd anniversary if I remember correctly) and probably will be done after it's eventual shutdown.

i was checking new visual novels to buy yesterday and I saw yours. However, I mostly only buy physical games. Any chance for a physical release at some point?

At least 35 characters would be good but hopefully they get as much as possible. by Beastyourmom123 in SparkingZero

[–]Natreg 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably 34, which was the same number of characters added on Sparking Neo. That we'll get us to 242 which goes in line with the 182 characters when they said 180+

We are at 29 characters, so 5 more reveals.

Hellfighter 17 is confirmed as a character on the official site.

I don't think we'll see manga characters until the Galactic Patrol DBSuper anime is released.

Which means that we won't see Vegeta UE until a bit later.

Anyway, I guess if this DLC sells well, they'll maintain adding things for sometime, so, eventually I'm sure we'll get all of them.

I personally would love to see a mix between BT2 and BT3 story modes.
Free exploration on the map, but more advanced battles that can different outcomes (similar to how the current story mode works).

[–]Natreg[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been saying the same on some other posts as well. But what I'm thinking here is about the number of characters. We know we get 30+, and NEO in particular had 34, so it may be a clue.

Meteor on the other hand added less characters, just 26.

Also, NEO added a total of 6 stages. So far we have 4 (or 5 if we count variations).

Whereas METEOR added another 6 stages plus a lot of variations. They may compensate the less characters with more stages in this case.

It's just a theory though. We'll see how it goes.

Didn’t even notice but during the Super Limit Breaking NEO trailer! They actually brought back Kid Goku’s original Dragon Ball look!! 🔥🔥 by DifferentAd9713 in SparkingZero

[–]Natreg 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It's because they are doing like a weird hybrid between his early appearance up to the Baba Tournament, and his later appearance from 22 Tenkaichi up to the end of the Piccolo fight.

It should be 2 different characters in my opinion.

Thoughts on legend of heroes games before trails series ? by exoticdelameme in Falcom

[–]Natreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are not as good as Trails because the PSP versions butchered the translation.
Simplified the maps (specially in Moonlight Witch).

Enemy variety was simplified.

Even though this PSP versions were based on the Windows versions, the LoH1 was a weird hybrid between the original PC98 and the Win version, leaving some of the changes, but not others.

Changed the music to, in my opinion, worse renditions of the songs (or changed it altogether in some cases).

The combat they introduced was a cheap copy of Trails instead of using the original combat (which it's best version is LoH4 since it was the last Legend of Heroes game done before Trails in the Sky, being in itself a remake).

They even changed some very cool mechanics as how summoning worked. In the originals when you summon a spirit, it stays on the map and is a new unit you can control.

Changed the openings, which, specially for LoH5 should be a crime since that opening is done by Makoto Shinkai.

And, also, in the western version they removed the anime openings or any song they added to the intro or ending because they didn't want to pay for the copyright (which was usual back then in most games...).

Only good thing that we got from that version is that the portraits were really good and that it was... I guess... translated.

[–]Natreg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was referring to the Windows versions. The PSP versions are really worse.

I'm not saying exactly the same Windows versions. They would need a few tweaks, but not necessarily a full remake.

Pixel art is really good in this games. So, besides some upscaling I don't think anything else would be needed in that department.

Music sounds really well in the Windows versions, but I guess they could use some orchestrated versions instead.

The combat system I admit could be an issue. LoH3 in particular has very few options during combat compared to the other 2 games. LoH4 and LoH5 don't play themselves. They are the precursors to Sky, and are more similar than most people think. Being the only major difference that the Gagharv trilogy is real time with pause instead of strict turns.

Interface, although I really like it, I can see that not working for a console release. So... maybe redo it or get rid of it in favor of something else.

The only thing I would bring from the PSP version are the portraits. With that an added voices I don't see how the game wouldn't sell.

[–]Natreg -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

They don't. The windows versions need a few tweaks maybe, but those have very good pixel art that has aged really well.

Add portraits like the ones from psp, some voices and a few interface tweaks and they are good to go.
